1 Timothy 2:8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing.

When we lift up our prayers to God it should not be as a show of pride or any other outward show of emotion; rather it should be an honest and humble request from us directly to God from our hearts.

Religious people may well do their prayers as a matter of course, but God wants us to lift up our prayers as a one to one talk coming from our hearts because He wants to answer according to our needs.

Above all we need to come to Him with the right attitude and certainly not in anger, blaming Him for things in our lives. God is fair and just. We need to accept His will for our lives because He does know what is best for us.
