Romans 8:2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.
One of the greatest mysteries for us is how we get away with murder... no I'm not advocating murder!
The love God has for us allowed His Son to come and give His life for our sins. No matter how big or small they are, He gave it all for you!
Now we can live in the freedom Christ has given us – let us live it in a positive manner by worshipping and obeying God!

Matthew 13:46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
If you knew exactly what Heaven would be like – would you try to get there? I think the answer for everyone is yes!
How much are we willing to 'bet' that this life in Heaven is going to be totally worth anything we have here?
God has tried to give people an impression of what Heaven would be like, but the thoughts and dreams were too overwhelming for the people to describe it to us...

Proverbs 4:18 The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
There is nothing quite like getting up before the sun rises and watching it rise in the morning sky...
The new light which it brings gives us hope of a new day to live and another chance at getting things right!
We can put aside the old day and live for the new day – this is central to living with Christ.

Proverbs 4:19 But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.
When people learn they can make a profit from doing something bad, they take chances and do strange things.
God knows our weaknesses and He knows where we will fail – He tries to guide us in the right ways.
Allow God's word to guide you daily and to give you the strength to continue forward when you are faced by all manner of evil things!

Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.’
When you remember what Jesus has done for you on the cross, what goes through your mind?
Will you lift up Christ as your Saviour, the one who has given it all for your sake?
Will you put your uttermost trust in Christ because He has already done this all for you?
I will!

Mark 10:41 When the ten heard about this, they became indignant with James and John.
How do you treat someone who has just been caught out doing something wrong? Do you call them names for being stupid, or support and encourage them?
It is very easy to join in with everyone else and blame the people who have done wrong for what happens. It is harder to try and support them in recovering from their mistakes.
Jesus did not sit back and blame people; He stepped forward and tried to help people to change their ways and to live for God!

Psalm 147:10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse, nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
I don't know about you, but there are TV series I don't watch just because I don't want to, not because they are bad or fiction or anything else...
God does not look for the biggest and the best. He does not look for the tallest or strongest. God looks at your heart!
God wants to see your faith in action, not your riches, strength, power or might...

Luke 4:13 When the devil had finished all this tempting, he left him until an opportune time.
When you show you are strong, others will see your strength. When you show you are weak, others may well take advantage of you!
God wants us to remain strong, not in our own strength, but in the strength He gives us through our faith in Him.
Jesus showed the devil He was fully relying on God and nothing the evil one could do would touch His human body.

Luke 4:39 So he bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them.
What do you do when God answers your prayers? What do you do when He does not answer them quickly?
We need to go back and revisit prayers we have asked in the past so we can see when God answers – and then we need to praise Him more because He has answered prayers...
What does that praise look like? It could be singing, talking, working, living, sharing, helping... just do it!

John 15:13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
I’m not asking you all to give up your life for someone today – please don’t! Jesus gave us the ultimate example by giving His life for us.
He did this because we were all guilty and we were all facing the ultimate price to pay for our sins – our death.
What He did was to give us life by giving us His life. He did this knowing God would accept His death as the final payment for our sins.
He did this because there was no other way!

John 17:5 And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.
Why did Jesus ask to have glory shone on Him? Was it to boast before people? No. It was to shine light upon God!
We need to shine for Jesus – which means not boasting about what we can do or have done, but to boast about what Christ does!
Jesus gave God the glory, but, because He was fully human, needed a bit of a boost to keep going!
It’s OK to ask for help!

Psalm 126:2 Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy.
What do you think about when you talk about the Joy of Christ? Do you think of the happiest time on earth you can have?
This is a simple view of what Joy can mean – when your life is filled with laughter and all you can talk about is the great time you are having!
God is not going to fill out lives with earthly wealth and possessions if He knows they will corrupt our hearts!
God want us to enjoy real joy, which goes beyond our simple understanding and fills our lives with something new!

Psalm 126:1 When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dreamed.
Don’t forget to look back on the history we know from our bibles. Don’t forget to see how much God has done for people!
It is easy to focus on the bad things and only remember those – because that way when things get tough we feel like we are not the only ones...
But if we remember the good times as well, then we can remember the promise which God has kept and served up for many before us!

Hebrews 7:22 Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantor of a better covenant.
God made a promise to us all through Christ to always be there for us! This is a promise!
Because of this promise, Christ is our guarantor for a better deal for us all; not just something He said, but a guarantor!
Jesus demonstrated that guarantee by giving His own life on the cross for our sin debt. We are free, yes free indeed!

Psalm 24:1 The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it;
Do you treat God’s Word as something extraordinary? Do you treat it as special?
Isn’t God’s word simply the truth as given to us by God through many people over thousands of years of our history?
Why don’t we treat it as being totally natural and fully expected – as if it was the whole truth!

John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.
Have you ever promised someone you would come back for them only to have things change in your life and you could not go back for them?
We all fall short of our promises because we live in an ever changing world and make promises not taking into account what could happen.
Jesus knew what would happen and still promised because He knew He could keep His promises to us.
Trust Him.

Ephesians 2:17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.
Jesus did not come to cause problems and keep people apart; He came to share His peace and encourage us to live together in harmony.
No matter how far we are physically, emotionally or spiritually from God, Christ and the Holy Spirit; He came to bring us closer together and closer to Him.
Put down the things which are causing you stress and strain in your life and allow Christ to guide you to a more peaceful life with Him!

Romans 11:11 Again I ask: did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
Have you ever thought you have done too much wrong for God to even look at you?
God knows exactly where you are in life right now and He is still reaching down to give you a hand up!
God knows when you trip and fall and wants to pick you up each time – but we need to accept that help instead of constantly rejecting it through fear!

Hebrews 9:14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
When the people of the Old Testament offered the blood of various animals in sacrifice, it was to ceremonially cleanse them of their sins.
In others words, this was to allow others to see they were willing to be washed by blood because God wanted that.
When Jesus paid for our sins with His own blood, it was a final and permanent sacrifice to cleanse our bodies and souls once and for all!

Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.
The temple gates were huge and magnificent and probably very hard to open each time a person wanted to come in or out.
They probably had a small secondary gate or door which could be opened up to allow people in and out – but for someone like a king, the whole gate would be opened up fully!
God is saying we are as important as our king, King Jesus, who is stepping forward to invite us in, personally.
God say we should expect the whole gate to open because we are His children.
