One of the most precious things you can give someone is hope!
Hope spreads through communities as quick as gossip, but it continues to give. Hope leads to hope.
If that hope is based on something sure like the love of God, then that hope will continue to give more each step it takes!

Psalm 79:12 Pay back into the laps of our neighbours seven times the contempt they have hurled at you, Lord.
What is your attitude toward people who have chosen not to believe in Christ? Do you call for them to be burned as chaff?
Jesus taught us to not be this way because He saw the divisions this brought into our lives.
God wanted us to be separate from non-believers to give us a chance at having hope; Jesus came to give us physical and spiritual hope, turning these divisions into something very different for us.

When you have some sort a gain in life which others do not have, you may well feel like you are being surrounded by wolves who are after what you have!
Humans can be very greedy, spiteful, jealous and proud; making us do unsavoury things.
God wants us to focus on the love we share for each other rather than the riches our treasures we have.

Psalm 146:3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.
Sometimes we look at the important people in our lives or the leaders of our countries and we believe what they do and say without question…
Well, we should be able to do this! Unfortunately we do have a lot of corrupt leaders around the world who lead their people astray through what they do and say.
God warns us not to follow people but to follow God – we can do both if our leaders would follow God first of all!

2 Corinthians 9:7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
One thing God does not do is to force you into any situation! The world may seem to force you into many things, but God does not!
We are given free choice to follow and obey Christ, or to do our own thing – even if that is to go against God like Judas did!
God wants to see us come forward willingly to do His will – that is what will please Him most!

When we feel like the world is about to end around us, we can always look to God and get love, support and peace from Him.
No matter how far things have gone wrong in your life, God will show you there is something to be thankful for and allow you to give thanks.
When we are in mourning, Christ is by our sides and mourning with us, loving and supporting us in every way!

Christ wants us to know we are going to be with Him in Heaven when we die and not to be left wondering what is going to happen.
Live you life with Christ and know you will live eternity with Him too!

When we get to learn about the laws God set down and how He made sure people knew He was serious about those laws, we begin to learn about fearing God.
We need to remember God is all powerful and has told us what will happen if we do not listen to Him…
Think about that as you lay down tonight and know the fear of the Lord!

How earnest are you with your prayers? We are told to pray often, honestly and humbly to God; but also earnestly!
God wants us to know at all times we know He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
We need to remember this when we do pray – because this is the Creator of the universe we are asking things of!

Psalm 51:14 Deliver me from the guilt of bloodshed, O God, you who are God my Saviour, and my tongue will sing of your righteousness.
When I think about the traumatic things we go through when we see how we have done something very wrong, this doesn’t even come close to what Jesus had to endure!
These words by the author of this psalm were heartfelt because he knew he had done very bad things.
Admitting things to God and allowing Him to forgive you is the only way of getting over trauma!

Psalm 137:4 How can we sing the songs of the Lord while in a foreign land?
When you go somewhere foreign, how do you cope with living your life?
It is hard to try and live your own life when in amongst foreigners because everything they do is probably different to what you would normally do!
If we focus on Christ when amongst strangers, we can live a good life even when we are away from everything we think normal!

Psalm 97:9 For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.
We can see how many people around the world believe in their gods, some calling on statues of their gods to do their bidding, while others call on effects which they say are from their gods.
We call out to our God who is creator of this all. All people, angels and everything else all lift up the One True God who is in Heaven.
We should not fall short and create our own gods but worship the One True God in honestly!

Isaiah 1:13 Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons, Sabbaths and convocations – I cannot bear your worthless assemblies.
When we say we are doing things for God we may be able to fool people, but we can never fool God!
God looks into our hearts when we say we do things with or for Him; and if our hearts are not in the works, then there may as well be no works from us!
God does not want us to be the biggest and best – He just wants us to do our best for Him...

The more we are willing to do for Christ, the more the world will probably reject us and work against us.
The more we show signs of strength, the more the world rejects us thinking we are going to work against them in some way; whether it is greed, pride or jealousy!
Don’t be put off by what others say just because you are showing signs of strength in Christ!

God is holy! His judgment and very being is just and final!

Ezekiel 12:2 Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.
When we live amongst people who do things wrong, it seems so easy to go along with the crowd and do things wrong too – after all, they seem to get away with it…
Nothing can be further from the truth. God sees everything and remembers everything.
But Jesus gave it all so we can be forgiven and washed as clean as snow – so stop jumping in the mud!

Psalm 118:15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: ‘The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!
As I read this psalm I was reminded of a tweet an acquaintance posted on Twitter – they complained about a group of over exuberant Christians who were singing worship songs in the car park of a hotel very late at night…
Whilst I always like hearing large groups of Christians singing joyous songs to God, this group were obviously oblivious to the needs of people trying to sleep!
God wants us to shout and sing, but not to make other irate because we are keeping them from living their lives!

Psalm 51:1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions.
When you get into trouble, who do you turn to to seek forgiveness? Do you get forgiven?
We have a Father in Heaven who has promised to faithfully forgive us when we come to Him and ask forgiveness.
His mercy and compassion knows no bounds – He will always forgive!
