Ephesians 6:13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

Standing up for God has many facets that we often overlook. He continues to make sure that we have everything we need to stand up for Him, but whether we achieve that or not is our decision!

He has given us protection far beyond our thoughts and deeds and yet so few people pick up that protection and far less take it with!

God wants us to be fully protected against all evil and will make sure that we do know about the good things in this world. It is all that God supplies that we need to take with us and not what we create or gain!

2 Corinthians 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

We do need to be reminded that the war that we fight against evil is a very real and dangerous war, but we also need to remember that it is a war not like any other we know!

Satan is not going to use bows and arrows or technological battles against us; he is going to use very sly and basic means to turn us away from God because he knows that is where our strength lies.

We need God and we need His might and power. Nothing else will do, so don’t go looking for earthly power!

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.

There is a very big difference between the tools of war from this country (the UK) and the tools of war from a third world country from an age ago. We may have amazing technology to fight wars whereas they may have to rely on bows and arrows.

Just like there is that big difference between us and them, there is a big difference between how the world fights fights and how Christians should be fighting against evil.

God backs us every step of the way but he also expects us to stay within His rules when fighting on His side. Don’t leave God out of it, take Him with you!

1 Timothy 1:18 This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

Paul’s letter to Timothy was uplifting and quite personal to start with but also reminded Timothy of all the things that had come before Him.

Paul was making sure that Timothy would not forget all that Christ had done before this moment so that he would not be discouraged! There is nothing like being told one thing as the truth only to find out a different truth later!

We do need God’s Word to encourage us every step of the way; without it we will not be able to make sure the truth survives – we are too weak to do that!
