2 October: Luke 10:13-16

Key Verse: Luke 10:16
‘Whoever listens to you listens to me, and whoever rejects you rejects me, and whoever rejects me rejects the one who sent me.’

Devotion:
Some of us have no problem with believing others can do things after we see they can do them. When we see how people can threaten us and frighten us into believing they can do bad things to us, our perception of life changes according to what they say.

What we should be doing is stopping to think about the power of God and what he can do in our lives. When we give in to things because we recognise the power of God, we start to move in the right direction!

But when we give in to the things of the world and what other people say and do, we are not following the will of God, but the will of mankind.

God has sent people into this world to tell us about him, to remind us of his commandments and to show us what we should be doing with our lives. If we stop and begin to listen to what they have to say, we get a bit closer to what God wants in our lives...

Points to ponder:
Do you believe the person who shouts the loudest?

Or do you stop to listen for the truth?
