August 15: Acts 1:6-14

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’
Devotion:
Sometimes we get caught up in trying to figure everything out and to prove things one way or the other. Sometimes we allow our thoughts to get the better of us.
Jesus was telling the disciples here to accept what God had given them and to use what they had been given to go out and share the Good News to everyone.
We do not have to know when and where everything is going to happen. We should be willing to accept things through faith and to believe what God has said will happen - in his own time and not to our timetables!
When Jesus ascended to heaven, it was a simple affair with the disciples around him. No big fanfare, just Jesus reminding them to have faith and exercise that faith! That should be our daily reminder!

God does not work to the timetable of the earth; we should work to his evolving timetable.
