24 September:: Ecclesiastes 1:2-11
Key Verse: Ecclesiastes 1:9
What has been is what will be, and what has been done is what will be done; there is nothing new under the sun.
Devotion:
One of the things you find out as you grow older is that most things which happen in life are not new but have been done in some form or another multiple times in the past.
Does this mean we are stuck in a world where nothing new will happen? Certainly not! But many things have been done before.
If we are going to make the most of this life then we should be taking note of all the things which have happened before and choosing the best outcome based of the outcomes which have happened before.
But humans seem to be stuck in a rut where we do the same things over and over and expect a different outcome even though this has never happened before. God wants us to have a good life and be happy and content with all he is doing for us in our lives.
As long as we try to keep up with the best outcomes which have gone before based on what other children of God have done - we can expect good things!
Points to ponder:
Do you expect things just to happen for you?
Or do you go looking what God wants from you?
