Psalm 120:1: When I was in trouble I called to the Lord; I called to the Lord and he answered me.
How many times have you called out for help and found people are not willing to help you? How many times have you born consequences you thought far too harsh?
God does not see us as a large crowd of people whom he has to save before we get ourselves into deep trouble. He does not see us as a world in need of help.
He sees each one of us as an individual who is in need of mercy and help. He wants us to recognise that we are all our own selves and we all need a one to one relationship with him, nothing more, nothing less.
He is there and he is listening. When we call out he does answer - but in a way which makes perfect sense for us and the people around us. We may not see that because we are too bound up in our own pride and wants.
Stop and allow God to have a go!
