Daniel 6:22 My God sent his angel, and he shut the mouths of the lions. They have not hurt me, because I was found innocent in his sight. Nor have I ever done any wrong before you, Your Majesty.’
When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den everyone expected him to be devoured by the lions; but he was not!
Daniel’s testimony was not to brag about being alive, but to lift up God’s name by telling of the angel who came from God to stop the lions from eating him.
Daniel reminded the king he had done nothing wrong by worshipping God, because God is not a mortal man just as we all are, but is our Heavenly Father!

Psalm 146:6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them – he remains faithful for ever.
What do you think about when you look out over the ocean? Do you feel the vastness and think of yourself as being very small?
Have you watched any films or videos recently about the space trips people are taking and marvelled at the speeds and heights the spacecraft are going?
No matter how much we feel overwhelmed by the vastness of this earth, this solar system or the universe – we know God remains faithful to the promises He made to us, personally!

Psalm 96:4 For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods.
Have you ever wondered about the gods of various civilisation over history; have you ever wondered who was the god in charge?
In our quest to define authority we always seek to know who is in charge for one reason or another; having many gods leaves us in a quandary!
Our God is real and without Him nobody could come up with their own gods...

Psalms 25:5 Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Saviour, and my hope is in you all day long.
This is one of those Psalms which give us hope for the future and encourage us to put our hope and faith in our Lord!
It is because of everything God has already done for us we have hope. We can read many stories on how God has given people hope for many years in our past.
No matter how dire our lives are, we can always find hope in Christ – as long as we go looking for it… which is the difficult step to start with.
Help someone today to take that first step!

Matthew 8:13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would.’ And his servant was healed at that moment.
What is your view on the prayers you ask of God? Do you beg Him for something over and over again until you think you can’t ask any more? Do you ask once and go off on your way again?
We each have our different ways of looking at prayers, but they are all the same. They are our words being lifted up to God who is listening and will answer!
If we don’t expect an answer – are we even asking God, or are we just saying the words?
Expect answers to all of your prayers every day!

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Once you get to learn just how much God can do and how much He has already done for you, you will get to see the world in a very different light.
I look at the natural world around me and I see an intelligent God who has created so much for us.
I also see how nature has changed things over time.
I also see how man has changed things over time.
But I still see a God who designed things in the beginning – because that is what the world around me shows me!

Isaiah 25:9 In that day they will say, ‘Surely this is our God; we trusted in him, and he saved us. This is the Lord, we trusted in him; let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.’
Why does it take miracles or good things happening to us before we recognise what God is doing for us every day of our lives?
Do we really need Him to do the extraordinary before we believe and trust in Him? Seems like it…
Why not look at the world around you today and see exactly what God is doing for us all, not just to us, but for everyone!

Psalm 118:17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.
When will you step forward and do what God asked you to do a while ago?
Sometimes we just have to accept God’s help and step forward to do what He has asked us to do instead of trying to find our own ways of doing things.
God knows what we are going through, where we have been and what we can do – He will not ask you to do anything He knows you cannot do… Accept His help and guidance!

Matthew 13:25 But while everyone was sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and went away.
I wonder if you have ever tried your best to do something right only to have someone else come along and break it all down…
We often find the greed and jealousy of others will make them do horrible things to the things we hold dear in our lives.
Do not take it too personally, they are probably doing this because God’s ways have shown up the shortcomings or rottenness in their ways.
Stand firm in God’s ways and obey His will.

Isaiah 30:23 He will also send you rain for the seed you sow in the ground, and the food that comes from the land will be rich and plentiful. In that day your cattle will graze in broad meadows.
“Not much to relate to here in our modern ways of living” you may think…
But if we look at it in a different light, things change… Think of the words you say as being the seeds, and the ground being the people around you…
When we start talking about Jesus, God will work with those words in people’s hearts, giving them understanding or even a thirst for more.
Think more along the lines of the “Butterfly Effect!”

Philippians 1:6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
We need to remember we are partners in Christ’s work and not the centre of attention!
We are not even the ones who are going to change people’s hearts for God!
God wants us to faithfully bring people to Him so He can work in their hearts.
Listen to what God wants in your life...

Isaiah 35:3 Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
What happens when you are faced with danger or tasks which you know you cannot achieve by yourself?
We tend to describe that as getting weak at the knees or having shaky hands… because those are the physical feeling we get during those times.
God is saying we need to depend more on Him and stop worrying about the impossible when asking for His help!

Matthew 18:12 ‘What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?
If we look back on our lives, have we just shrugged the one lost sheep off and said something like “it was bound to happen!”
We tend to go by our physical limitations and we shrug things off when they seem a bit hard to do!
God will always go after the one who has wandered off because He loves us that much!

Psalm 103:8 the Lord is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.
How many times have friends turned on you just because you said or did the wrong thing at the wrong time?
God has an amazing capacity to love us no matter what we have done wrong and no matter how far we stray away from Him.
He watches over us with compassion. He waits patiently as we get things wrong. He guides us continually waiting for us to listen.
His love is over all!

Matthew 11:11 Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet whoever is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Have you ever dreamed about being someone important, some sort of hero or a famous scientist? I think we all have…
When we get to heaven, none of these things we dream about on earth are going to matter – instead, we will all be much more.
You see, the most important people on the earth are those who will give their lives to Christ…
But the most important people in Heaven are those who already have!

Romans 15:2 Each of us should please our neighbours for their good, to build them up.
How do you feel when someone comments on how good you are or how well you have done?
How do you feel when someone comments on how bad you are or how you have done something terrible?
Why cause more anguish in the world when you can, instead, bring joy and happiness by being honest and encouraging!

Psalm 145:16 You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
When we say God is our Creator and King of Kings, we really should treat Him like that and believe He can and does look after everything!
Too often we limit our prayers to personal requests, or things we understand; we should be lifting up prayers for things needed by everyone and everything.
God has chosen man to be ruler over everything – that gives us responsibility over everything – which means we need to take care of it all properly!
Lift up your prayers to ask God to help you know what to do!

Luke 3:18 And with many other words John exhorted the people and proclaimed the good news to them.
When someone asks you about God or Jesus, how do you go about talking to them?
Sometimes we struggle when we cannot think of the right words to describe what we think about God – but I have found the best way is to just talk about what you do with God on a daily basis.
When someone asks you about a relationship with another person, you probably tell them of everyday things… so why not talk about Christ like this?

Psalm 40:3 He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.
If you struggle with telling people about God, then you should try asking Him to give you the words instead of trying to make them up yourself!
No matter how hard we try to describe something, it never quite lives up to having something tangible to grasp with your own hands.
God wants us to give people the truth so they can grasp it with their own hands!

Psalm 50:14 Sacrifice thank-offerings to God, fulfil your vows to the Most High,
King David began to understand what God required, not by trial and error, but by listening to God through the prophets and his own life too.
God still requires input from us, no longer the prize bull or beautiful sheep, but something from our hearts.
God wants us to offer what we can to Him because we are thankful and want to…
What does that mean – stop and think what you can do for God because of what He has already done for you...
