Luke 24:45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures.

If you want to learn about something, you need to listen to people who are willing to teach you about the subject.

Christ came, not to just be our Saviour, but to make sure people understood why He did this all.

Jesus spent His life learning and teaching, just as we should be trying to do.

God continually tries to teach us too – we need to stop and listen so we can learn!

Psalm 105:8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he made, for a thousand generations

We may not be able to keep our promises all the time – and we then begin to think we should not make promises we cannot keep.

Christ, on the other hand, made a whole lot of promises and has been making sure every one of them comes to pass!

We can utterly rely on every promise Jesus made to us and treat every word He said as a promise for us now and in the future!

John 20:19 On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’

Can you imagine the uproar when Jesus entered the locked room without warning!

Not just because the disciples fear the soldiers coming to get them, but because they feared the priests doing something too!

When we think we have nowhere to turn to, Christ can come into our lives and remind us He has things under control!

Trust Christ and allow Him free access in your life, always!

Psalm 16:8 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

Have you ever watched a blind person get led around by a guide dog? They trust that dog to guide them round obstacles and keep them away from danger.

If we were more like a blind person, depending on a guide, and less like a seeing person telling the dog where to go, we may just stay out of trouble!

God is trying to guide us through the Holy Spirit. If we are willing to listen to Him and depend on Him to keep us safe – just maybe we will succeed more often!
