John 8:12 When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’

On, what some see as the darkest night of the year, we need to shine our brightest to allow people to see Jesus as being the true Light of the world.

We don’t need to conform to the ways of the world to encourage people to find Jesus – we need to be different and show people hope!

I love seeing crowds of people each holding up a small light because, together, they are very visible and a beautiful sight to see.

Be different and shine your little light!

Matthew 5:13 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.

When you asked Christ into your life, you began to be filled with the best seasoning on the planet!

It is amazing what a little salt or spice can do to a meal which would otherwise be bland. As Christians, God is calling us to be this little pinch of salt in people’s lives.

We don’t have to be world leaders to change the world – just like a pinch of salt makes a bit difference to a meal, so will the little things we do make a big difference for others and for God!

Matthew 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Who has upset you over the past few days? Who has done something which has brought out the worst in you?

How about looking at it another way? What things do you allow to bring out the worst in you?

If we can change the attitude we have toward other people by sharing God’s love with them instead of hating them, we could brush many more things off instead of drowning in them...

Colossians 1:17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Christ has been with us from the beginning and will be with us through the end. Everything exists because the Trinity has deemed it so – Jesus being part of that Trinity.

Despite His comparatively short life as a human being, Jesus has and will always exist throughout time.

But, He took time out to come to earth as a human, to live and die as one of us, so we can have a perfect sacrifice given to cover all of our sins, once and for all!
