Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship.

What do you do at or in your church congregation? What do you do in your local community?

God created us all very different so we could help support our local community/church/organisations/businesses; but to do so with a willing heart to give glory to our creator God.

Sometimes we just don’t want to get out of bed or cannot be bothered to go and do something; sometimes people depend on what we do and need our support.

Do something with God and for Him today!

Philippians 4:18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

Have you ever been weary about giving money in the offering tray/bag/collection? I have…

We need to look upon our offering not as money in the pocket of the church or priest or pastor, but as offerings which go toward God’s work and give glory to God.

Once I got my head round that, I was more than willing to give regularly to whichever church I was in – not as a bride to God, but as an offering which will enable someone else to spread the word of God to more people than I can!

Acts 10:4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.”

Cornelius was a man who gave to those in need and prayed for those in need regularly; now was the time God was going to answer him in a special way.

How many times do you lift up your prayers and wonder whether God is listening – I know I have been guilty of that in the past, but I know now God is always listening!

God send an angel in a vision to Cornelius to reach out to the apostles; and at the same time God gave visions to Peter to reach out to the Gentiles/Romans.

Don’t doubt God’s abilities; prayer in faith.

Mark 12:1 Jesus then began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the wine press and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.

What would you do if you were leased a vineyard? Would you just take a holiday and enjoy the weather, or would you work hard to make the vineyard produce as much as possible?

Our bodies could be seen as being on loan from God – how are you treating your body, how are you looking after God’s body?

We do not have a long time here on earth in comparison to the age of the world and even less in comparison to the time we will spend in heaven – are you doing your best?
