1 Corinthians 12:31 Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.

No matter what gifts we have from the Spirit, no matter what physical abilities we have or even mental capacity… God can show us a better way!

God wants us to be able to use the gifts we have for the betterment of His church – if we are going to hold back on anything we will not find out just how great things can be.

So, no matter what state you find yourself in today – God can use you to do something rather special which will make people stand up and think!

Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Those of us who love going to church meetings do so because of a variety of reasons from the worship, to the learning to the quiet times… and God is pleased we do gather together.

But God is also pleased with the stuff we do outside of those meetings, whether it is helping in our local food bank, helping people on the streets or giving to our neighbours who need something.

Do not hold back just because you are not in a church building, be out there showing the world our church lives in this world and God is the head of our church!

Galatians 2:10 All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I had been eager to do all along.

When the disciples agreed they should be reaching the Jews and Paul the Gentiles, the one thing they asked was for Paul to always remember the poor!

How often we forget about the poor and needy when we are focused on either expanding our church or getting money in to do things with the church!

The poor will always be there, but they probably have a much greater chance at facing death that the well off in society; simply because of their standards of living.

Look out for those who are in need, because they may disappear quicker than you imagine…

Galatians 2:7 On the contrary, they recognized that I had been entrusted with the task of preaching the gospel to the uncircumcised, just as Peter had been to the circumcised.

At first the disciples would not accept Paul as being sent by God because of his willingness to go out to all the non-Jews; they probably thought this was against Christ’s teaching.

But when they finally accepted the truth, they knew the gospel was meant for the whole world even though their focus was on the Jews.

Christ gives each of us a place to go and tell someone about Him. Where is He telling you to go?
