Acts 2:46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,

When the disciples began to realise just what Christ meant by us loving each other, they put aside their own lives, desires and expectations to live with and for each other.

There is something special to be said about living in a commune of any kind because you are living as Christ wanted us to live.

But if we all live apart from the world we may not get to reach out to the world as He also intended.

Be careful when you venture out into the temptations and live with gladness and simplicity of heart – as Christ wanted.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

When you first heard someone say it was as simple as telling someone you were sorry and asking for their forgiveness, what did you think?

I didn’t think much of it because I could not see God or this Holy Spirit people were talking about; all I saw was the religious acts people were performing.

But when God knew the time was right, He allowed me to see the truth from His Word and allowed me to know Him properly for the first time.

Take time and allow God to work in your heart today.

Acts 2:37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?”

It is the Holy Spirit who will convict people when they hear the word of God; but how will they hear the word of God unless we are willing to tell them?

Jesus gave us the command to go out into the world and tell people about God and about salvation; He did it for a reason.

Jesus continued to tell people about God all the time, even though He was and is Christ. If He was willing to put His own importance aside and tell people about God, we should be willing too.

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved.’

These are not the words of Peter who was speaking but the words of Joel the prophet actually written many years before Christ came to earth in human form.

Although Joel was giving prophecy of the judgement of the people, the locusts and the caterpillars, there was hope being portrayed when the Messiah was coming to earth.

We have written testimony of those times now so we can look forward to the further promises God has given us of the future times we have in store.

But there is still a promise of sad times for those who do not call on Christ.
