Ezekiel 34:31 “You are My flock, the flock of My pasture; you are men, and I am your God,” says the Lord God.

When we hear Jesus or God speaking about us being sheep it is not like He is describing us as a woolly wild animal; more figuratively than actually!

God has described us as being sheep because He is our shepherd. A shepherd will always look after the sheep.

Various other animals are largely left to fend for themselves, but sheep are most often looked after very closely.

The shepherd does not carry round a ton of food to deliver to the sheep but rather guides them to the best pastures where they can get the best food.

John 10:7 Then Jesus said to them again, “Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.

When Jesus told parables to the disciples, more often than not, He would give them a clear explanation; even if the disciples would only understand things later on.

God gives clear instructions, but we continue to listen with muffled ears – almost like we are trying to listen to Him with noise defenders over our ears!

Jesus is our Lord and our protector. Nothing can get to us if we listen and obey…

Unfortunately we do tend to go astray and run into all manner of problems; stop, look and listen!

Mark 14:16 So His disciples went out, and came into the city, and found it just as He had said to them; and they prepared the Passover.

How often do you actually listen to God? You may say, always… but just how much are you listening?

At first we may say we do listen but continue on to expand our own ideas upon what we have heard from God; is that really listening?

Listening to God is not a once off process but a continual willingness to follow God and His instructions in our day to day lives.

Listen to God each and every day; obey His commandments and listen for further instruction…

1 Samuel 10:9 So it was, when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, that God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day.

No, they did not have open heart surgery in those days… This was God changing Saul’s heart.

Saul was a warrior who stood head and shoulders above most people; but God was now changing his heart to love the people and God.

We need people who have the right spirit, civil and common sense and wisdom to rule in our countries.

God can fill you with this and more if you only let Him work in your life too.
