Psalm 147:10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He takes no pleasure in the legs of a man.

It is amazing how much the power of a horse is taken for granted and not thought about nowadays. We talk of the power of many things as measured in horsepower and yet we don’t think about the fact we came from a time where a horse was used for work not so long ago!

God created the horse so many years ago and yet takes more notice of a feeble man who cannot even measure up to a horse in power.

But God does not take notice of how strong we are in comparison to other creatures; what He does take notice of is our spiritual strength and guidance.

Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.

What are the things in life which make you stop and think about how amazing nature is or how amazing people are to be able to build, create and style stuff the way we do?

I cannot help but relate this all back to how great God is who has made us the way we are. We would be nothing without Him. And yet He allows us to be great.

Add all the greatness of people together throughout all the ages and we begin to see just how great great can be – and yet that is what God is giving out all the time!

How great is God? Beyond our imaginations…

Job 36:5 Behold, God is mighty, but despises no one; He is mighty in strength of understanding.

When Job’s friends came to give him advice they did say some pretty awesome stuff.

When we think of someone being strong we do so because they hate their enemies; that is not what God is about. God cannot abide evil. He can see the good in every one of us because He created us!

Oh yes, did we say He is mighty? His strength goes beyond our imaginations and He is able to do all things.

We just need to believe this is all possible and He will continue to make it all possible!

Luke 8:50 But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, “Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well.”

How many times have you been let down by someone who has promised you things but never delivered on the promise? How does that make you feel?

It is hard to believe stuff if you have lived most of your life with people not carrying out promises or going against the rules.

Jesus upheld the law and He upheld every word He spoke. When He told the temple ruler to believe it was not “trust me I’m a doctor” but “trust me I’m God!”
