Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

It is hard to turn your back on something that looks so good, especially when you get excited about it by thinking about it!

God’s ways do not always line up with the ways of the world and we have to be willing and able to stop in our tracks and walk with Him even when we are excited about other things.

God tries to direct us by showing us the righteous way; but we are not always listening or waiting on Him.

We don’t have to follow the world and peer pressure, we can walk with God!

1 Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

When Jesus said that he had come to seek and save the lost it was with the understanding that we should turn away from the sin that traps us in our evil lives.

God does not call us to continue on in the same old ways because He knows those ways will corrupt us and seek to drive us away from Him.

He wants us to turn from the evil and seek all that is good; seeking His ways instead of the world’s ways.

When we want to be close to Jesus we need to know we should also be turning away from everything that draws us away from Him in the first place…

Hebrews 12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:

God gives us instruction through the writings of the disciples, apostles, prophets and others; whether written before or after Christ’s ministry on earth.

These instructions teach us many things but the most important is to love one another which should lead us to pursue peace with everyone around.

This will lead us to holiness as we live in peace with others in our church and lift up God to His rightful place in our lives.

Without this we will end our lives on earth and afterward may not get to see God…

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.

Oh how wonderful it will be to see God when we get to heaven! Are you scared as to whether you will make it?

Are you scared that you have done too much wrong or no longer have a pure heart?

That is why Jesus Christ came to earth. Not to punish us, not to convict us, not to blame us, not to make sure we fail… but the opposite.

Christ came for us. The broken. The needy. The poor. The ones who need Him most. He came to make us pure in heart so we can see God face to face!
