2 Kings 17:7 All this took place because the Israelites had sinned against the Lord their God, who had brought them up out of Egypt from under the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. They worshipped other gods
We see how Israel sinned many times over many years and how God got angry, not because they did little things wrong but because they were worshipping other gods.
But every time God was angry, He was also setting time aside to wait for them to return to Him.
God faithfully kept His promise to them no matter what happened even when they worshipped other gods.
That is the measure of God’s love for us!

Psalm 48:9 Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love.
Finding it difficult to focus on God’s Word? Have you tried finding a quiet spot to just stop and think?
Quite often our minds are racing full of things we should be doing and stopping to focus on the here and now can be difficult.
Taking time out of your day to stop and wait is a good place to be – it helps us to focus on the Holy Spirit and His guidance.

When you go to a tourist attraction, do you walk around blindly or do you follow the guides who are there to help and explain things?
Why should we then walk blindly through life if we have ready access to someone who is willing and able to guide us in every step?
God wants us to listen to His guidance through the Holy Spirit...

Psalm 37:7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.
God wants us to be ready for when Christ returns – this means having a closer relationship with God at all times.
We can get discouraged by seeing bad people succeed in life, but God wants us to know their eternal lives are at stake – unlike ours!
Trust in God and try to keep His ways so we are ready for Christ’s return!

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
When Christ laid His life down for us, it was not just for the Jews, not just for the believers, but for everyone around the world.
We do have to believe this is what has happened so we can have faith in trusting Christ to forgive us when we ask.
It’s all about trusting in something and someone which all happened a long time ago – but it all still stands firm!

Psalm 74:21 Do not let the oppressed retreat in disgrace; may the poor and needy praise your name.
Jesus came to give us all ready and free access to God through Him.
His actions showed us He was willing to reach out to the poor and needy just as people had requested years beforehand.
Being patient and having faith God will answer our prayers can be difficult but it is a sure thing!

Psalm 50:21 When you did these things and I kept silent, you thought I was exactly like you. But I now arraign you and set my accusations before you.
Have you ever taken God’s silence as being His agreement with you?
We tend to do this in our own lives by using silence as some form of agreement; whereas it is not, it is more of like abstained!
God may not want to upset you with your ridiculous suggestion – try asking in a better manner...

Matthew 8:26 He replied, ‘You of little faith, why are you so afraid?’ Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
Having faith in Christ must be an all or nothing thing!
The disciples were firm believers, but they lacked a bit of faith when the storm came along – much like us believing in God and then having doubts or showing lack of faith when things go wrong!
Once again I was recently reminded of these facts when I had to go back into hospital because of more complications with my pancreas.
Learn to live in Christ and not just with Him!

Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.
One of the arguments I often get faced with is that God does not care for certain people because they are ‘bad’ or not Christians…
Nothing can be further from the truth. God loves every single one of us – we are the ones choosing whether we walk with Him or walk away from Him.
He does not turn His back on us, we do that to Him!
Turn back to Christ and make Him the reason for living your life again!

When a biker I watch on YouTube reminded me of this verse I had to stop and remember just how much God does look out for me!
I have had many ‘lucky escapes’ which I cannot put down to luck all the time, nor coincidences, but to some sort of intervention!
God is here watching and protecting us even when we don’t think so… trust Him!

When Jesus sent out the disciples to go into the town and cities around them, He sent them out not as rich men but as servants…
Servants do not go into communities and demand luxuries, they go into communities and serve the people there.
Don’t continually look for riches and rewards when going to do God’s work – work with joy and live with God.

Psalm 84:3 Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young – a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
On these late summer evenings we have the privilege of being able to gaze out our windows and see the swifts and swallows ducking and diving through the evening skies!
God is the one who has given them and ability to fly high and fast gathering up insects at an amazing speed; He is feeding them directly!
God has done this for the birds and the animals; imagine how much more He wants to do for you, the one He loves!

God created the universe for us to live in and has given us an instruction manual to try and live by showing us what the best things to do are so we will survive and thrive!

During the time of the kings of Israel, people would be easily swayed away from God by the trappings of the world…
The Psalmist request God restores Israel to the position by His side once again as the chosen people.
God never turned His back on the people because He had already promised so much before these times – the people just needed reminders now and again of how they should be walking close to God!

Luke 18:15 People were also bringing babies to Jesus for him to place his hands on them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them.
Stop holding back the gospel! Stop preventing people from getting to know Jesus!
It is very easy to judge people by their lifestyles of choices and prevent them from getting to know the truth simply because you don’t think they deserve it!
Christ wants us to talk to everyone and allow everyone to get to know the truth and be in a relationship with Him!
