1 Peter 5:7 casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

Depending on God can seem like a daunting thing when you first look at life because we are brought up in a very material world.

We do depend on food, water and even light to survive and we trust that we are able to work hard enough to supply for and cover those needs.

What Peter is writing here is that we give up the anxiety we face for the supply of such needs to God. God provides daily needs for all other creatures who blindly trust in the unseen.

God wants us to show faith by having a form of that blind and absolute trust in Him.

1 John 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

John was a Jew and he learned from Christ that this atonement of sin was not just something to do with the Jews but to do with the whole world!

God created the whole world but worked with the Jews so that we would have our example to look to and learn from.

I sometimes count myself to be very lucky that I am a gentile and that I have come to learn about God through love and support and not through religion.

Exodus 24:7 Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.”

How many times have you said that you would do something but have not done it?

Not just the times you said you would just to get someone off your back, but the times you forgot or the time you could not or should not…

When God makes a promise to us, He keeps it and fulfils it. When we make a promise to Him, are we going to be as fervent to keep it as He is toward us?

Matthew 26:28 For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

When we remember that we live in a time of grace we must never forget what price was paid for us to receive that grace.

Christ willingly laid down His own life, allowed His own blood to be shed, allowed the people to crucify Him, just so that we would have our debt paid before we own it all.

Christ died before we committed the sins. Christ died because He knew we needed Him. Christ died because of His love for us.

Are we willing to remember what he has done and share that?
