Psalm 19:8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes;

I am always glad to be able to read the bible because of the joy that it brings to be in knowing the gospel.

What God has made available to us through our bibles is the truth that He wants us to hear and know; not some novel or guide book.

God wants us to take what is written and allow it to sink deep into our hearts so that is grows us from the inside out.

That light will grow on the inside until it shines through and out for the rest of the world to see.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Without our spirits our bodies are but lumps of flesh and bone; they may be remarkable but they would be lifeless without our spirits.

Though we may live and be full of life on earth, we are dead to God unless we have His Spirit which He gives to us.

When we are born in the Spirit of God we gain a new life with Him toward which the mortal body we live in profits nothing.

Jesus wants us all to have the Holy Spirit so that we can enjoy life to the fullest with Him.

Galatians 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

How are we going to walk in the Spirit? The best explanation comes with friends again…

When we stay close to friends, get to know them, get to know what they like and dislike, then we can be more of a friend to them.

Being a friend means caring for others and putting them first in your life instead of yourself.

If you want to be called a friend of God then you have to treat Him like a friend and put Him first; but first get to know Him and what He likes and dislikes.

Galatians 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Some people ask how it is possible to avoid sin after they have come to know Christ; they ask the question out of ignorance because they do not yet know the power of God!

I know, because I have been there. For a long time I would marvel at how others could avoid things or say no to temptation because I continued to trip up and fall.

It is only by walking with God and allowing Him to guide you that you will be able to avoid things. Yes you will still see those trappings but you may not want to go there.

Trust more in God and not your own weaknesses.
