John 8:52 Very truly I tell you, whoever obeys my word will never see death.’

Can you imagine what the people must have thought when they heard Jesus say these words?

As a Christian I can relate to these words and I know Jesus was talking about the after-life when we get to spend eternity in Heaven with Him…

But to the people who have little or no faith or beliefs, these words must seem strange or unscientific.

There are many things in our bible which can cause confusion when taken alone – this is why God sends us out to tell people the stories, so we can explain them!

John 8:42 Jesus said to them, ‘If God were your Father, you would love me, for I have come here from God. I have not come on my own; God sent me.

Have you ever been told “if you loved me you wouldn’t do that!” or similar words?

I think most of us would relate to something like this because we have all done something wrong against someone we love, be it big or small.

God’s love for us goes beyond what our love can imagine. He continues to uphold His love despite our wrongdoings.

Just stop and love God openly!

John 8:21 Once more Jesus said to them, ‘I am going away, and you will look for me, and you will die in your sin. Where I go, you cannot come.’

What would you do if someone said you were going to die in a war in two days time?

God wants us to make peace with Him and to ensure we believe in everything Jesus has done for us – otherwise we may well have to put up with the consequences of our sins.

Invite Christ into your life and live a life with Him every day to make sure you get to live with Him in Heaven one day!

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

How far does your faith stretch? Has it been stretched to breaking point lately with all the things happening in the world today?

This Psalm was written by someone who had their own ups and downs with God, but someone who always came back to God and knew in his heart God would always be there.

Take these words to heart. Believe them. Follow their example. Trust in God!
