18 October: Isaiah 35:3-6

Key Verse: Isaiah 35:3
Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm the feeble knees.

Devotion:
When God spoke to the prophets to give them instructions for the people, it was not to say they must be like police and keep the law, but rather more like teachers who impart the ways of God to give them strength to live as God wanted them to.

It was to give us strength because God knows we are going to have to face all manner of strange things which work against us and against God. He knows we will need strngth to get through these difficult times.

As we learn and as we gain strength we should be willing to step forward and pass that on to the next generation - not to keep that all hidden under a blanket, but for it to be open for all to see.

Our strength comes in standing up against what is wrong, not in hiding from the struggles. God is with us and he want us to be strong, We must trust in what he has for us!

Points to ponder:
Do you keep what you have been given and hide from the world?

Or will you take strength from what you are given and support the world?
