17 October: Luke 12:8-12

And I tell you, everyone who acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man also will acknowledge before the angels of God;
Devotion:
One of the things we often get very concerned about is what happens to us when we get things wrong? What happens when we do something against God's will? What happens when we know we are doing something wrong?
I like to cling to the words in this passage where Jesus tells us he will speak up for us, not because we have been model citizens, but because he believes our faith is true. Just that little ounce of faith is what sets us free from the things we do wrong!
If we are going to say that Christ does not exist, or that he is not the Son of God, then he will only have one choice - to say he did not know us because we rejected him.
All we need to do is to have that belief he is the Christ. That he is the Son of God and will step forward to acknowledge us... He will have to tell the truth and say what we have done, but he will support us!
