Acts 2:12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”
How often do you try to analyse what is happening in your life – are you totally confounded why there is this horrible virus spreading all round the world?
I am one who tries to analyse things, but quite often reach the point where I cannot explain what is happening so have to rely on biblical explanations: God has control!
Sometime we just have to have faith in God and wait on Him to give us the answers – He is able to and will use anyone He can to achieve His goals.
Listen out for what He is doing around you!

3 John 1:13 I have much to write you, but I do not want to do so with pen and ink.
How much are you longing to be able to talk to someone face to face, not over Zoom or any other online meeting place, but physically face to face?
Sometimes there are those special words which demand you being face to face with someone so they can see the sincerity from your face rather than over the wire.
God is with us every day as we struggle being home alone, and He knows what we need. Keep trusting in Him and waiting patiently for His timing...

3 John 1:9 I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us.
I wonder, have you got someone in your life who just demands to be first or best all the time? I have quickly learned to not give them the earthly attention they crave but to give them Christian love instead.
You may have realised by now that I do not like to be negative about things in my life – especially people.
God chose us – mankind. Which means I have no right to promote myself above the position God gives me and no right to judge people either!

2 John 1:4 It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
One of my greatest joys is to hear when people I have met in my life have turned to God; the joy it brings me will never cease to amaze me!
It may not be our task to bash people over the head with words from the bible, but to simply love them in a way they have not experienced before because they are trapped in the nonchalance of the world!
God’s love is so much more than the world can offer – but we have to share it so others can experience it too!

1 John 1:4 We write this to make our joy complete.
Do you like making people happy? I know I do and I often go out of my way just to do something for someone because I know they will enjoy it in some way…
What greater joy is there than knowing the full extent of the love of God in your life?
I challenge you to share your joy with someone today – heaven knows we all need it during these times… but make it the sharing of the love of your life and in your life...

Psalm 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
One thing we can be sure of is there will always be trouble in this world – we are surrounded by sin, sinful ways and trouble in general, no matter where we are.
Even being stuck at home alone you are exposed to trouble the news and the Internet – we cannot get away from it.
But we do have a protector who is willing to stand with us and guide us through the trouble – if we listen.

John 9:37 Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”
What will it take for you to follow Christ without question? Do you have to have a personal miracle before you believe?
We have learned to be wary of so many things in life that it is hard to believe in things sometimes.
I encourage you each to read a couple of verses a day to find out what God is already doing in your life without you realising it yet…
I love reading my bible and finding snippets which make me realise how God is always with us!

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die;
When Jesus was trying to comfort the sisters of Lazarus he spoke some very profound words here to Martha which may well gave gone over the heads of some people…
Whomever is willing to believe in Jesus as our Saviour, will live… even though we will die physically, our souls are going to live on forever with Him!
Martha knew this and believed it, but still limited it to her own physical life and situation; Jesus was about to open the gospel of ‘no limits’ when He brought Lazarus back to life!

John 5:21 For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.
Jesus stamped His authority in these few words, but still gives the ultimate glory to God His Father.
Jesus is the Son of God and deserves our praise and glory, and yet He chose to come into our lives and give His life for us. He chose to be our Saviour.
His love was displayed through how He lived and how He healed people wherever He went – because He loves His people, us!

Colossians 2:13 When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins
This, to me, is still the greatest show of love from God we could ever hope for and one which goes far and beyond our human understanding…
When we were at our lowest point, at our most corrupt point, in the depths of a sinful life, God chose us!
Not only did He choose us, but Christ forgave us of the sins He knew we were getting into. No sin is too much for the love of Christ to cover!

Psalms 51:9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.
This is the hope we have in Jesus Christ. This is the embodiment of the promise God gave us! He is willing and able to forgive us of any sin which we are willing to admit to Him and lay it down before Him.
Yes, it’s hard! None of us like to admit to doing things wrong and none of us like to look bad – but by bringing our sins to God, He is able to wash them away totally!
Christ has paid for our sins on the cross so we do not have to endure sham for what we have done, as long as we bring them to Him!

Isaiah 43:1 But now, this is what the Lord says - he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”
One thing we often forget is that God has chosen us before we chose Him! He is our creator and God, and yet He chose us!
God does not want us to live in absolute fear of Him but instead to live in a loving relationship with Him. This does mean fearing what He could do if we rebelled against Him…
But then we don’t really have an excuse to do any such rebellion because He wants what is best for us in our lives.

Isaiah 44:22 I have swept away your offences like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
How many times do we have to be reminded of what Christ has done for us? The people of Israel had to be reminded over and over again of all God had done for them – but still they broke the rules…
Do you know what… God is merciful and no matter how much we do wrong, He is always willing to listen to us when we come back to Him with an open heart.
God loves you without question – how are you going to respond to that love?

Psalm 78:38 Yet he was merciful; he forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up his full wrath.
So many times in our own lives we get caught up in something and before we know it we are running off down the path of sin… even though we didn’t think we made that choice to begin with!
God knows how we work and He knows what makes us tick. He knows how much we do wrong but is continually willing to try and allow us to learn the righteous ways.
His love for us extends far beyond the wrongs we do – never be discouraged just because we fell off the wagon once or twice or even many times!

Habakkuk 3:2 Lord, I have heard of your fame; I stand in awe of your deeds, Lord. Repeat them in our day, in our time make them known; in wrath remember mercy.
Think of the most striking event in your bibles which would install fear in you if it happened today? And God was there in the midst.
Now think of the fear we are going through as a world trying to beat this unseen global pandemic affecting so many people… yet God is still here in the midst.
Lift up your prayers today and ask God to let His glory shine in this time of darkness over the whole world; because He is in our midst!

1 Kings 11:34 But I will not take the whole kingdom out of Solomon’s hand; I have made him ruler all the days of his life for the sake of David my servant, whom I chose and who obeyed my commands and decrees.
I do love the way God always talked of king David as being one who always obeyed His commands and followed His decrees.
David lied, committed adultery and killed people to list a few of his shortcomings. But each time he would come back to God and beg for forgiveness and turn back to God’s ways!
God may well be Holy and cannot abide sin, but He is loving and forgiving.
Be live David and ask for forgiveness and turn back to God!

Isaiah 42:9 See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you.
God wrote things down to make sure we know what has been, what is and what is coming. Things have been recorded for our sake!
God does not have these things written down for Him to remember – it is for our sakes and He used prophets and kings to tell the world about what is to come.
Unfortunately, the world has been sidetracked and needs a bit of a jog now and again!
Do you listen when God gives you a bit of a jog, or do you just carry on by yourself?

Isaiah 43:19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
This is the key verse which spurred me into action to do more for young people so they would not miss out on hearing the gospel message.
Many churches had become quite inward looking, not by conscious choice but simply because they could not see the opportunities being presented. A generation was missing out!
Don’t allow your own comfort blank out the need of those around you. God still wants you to reach out – even now!

John 3:30 He must become greater; I must become less.
I just love the way John ends this word – He had become quite famous for baptising so many people outside the city at the river and he knew it!
But he also knew this was going to be nothing in comparison to what Jesus was going to be like. He knew his place and knew just whom Jesus was and is!
We need to know when to stop and allow Jesus to take control. Control can be a very powerful thing and one which can corrupt us so easily…
Step aside and allow God to take the reigns!

John 3:27 To this John replied, “A person can receive only what is given them from heaven...”
Why don’t I get what I think I should have in my life? Why am I still having issues with life? Why can’t it all be smooth sailing now I’m a Christian?
We often mix up what we want in life with what we need in life and we tend to stretch what we want to make it look like we need it…
God knows exactly what we need and when we need it – He is not going to part the river when there is a perfectly good bridge for us to use…
Listen to where God calls you and try to obey.
