Mark 6:34 When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.
A far cry from our modern society where the paparazzi seems to have taken over from the crowds of well-wishers and oppress the people they are chasing!
Jesus did not see problems; He stood up and took the opportunity presented to Him to spread the gospel and heal the sick!
He saw a people in need without a real leader and not a crowd of people wanting something for nothing!
Will you have compassion on the people around you today?

Matthew 8:15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to wait on him.
When Jesus came to Peter’s house and saw his mother-in-law was not well, He touched her hand and made her well again.
He did this because of His love for Peter and for his mother-in-law; knowing what was on their hearts as well.
She immediately got up and began to wait on Jesus, showing her love for Jesus and for Peter.
Go on, show some love today!

Isaiah 53:4 Surely he took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered him punished by God, stricken by him, and afflicted.
What is your take on the life of Christ, especially His suffering?
Do you really consider He suffered because of your sins in your life, or do you see it as Jesus suffering because God directed it to be so?
Too many times we blame God for things which happen in our lives without considering the real reasons behind the suffering in the world.
God does not want to punish us all for doing things wrong; otherwise why would He offer us grace and mercy?

Psalm 119:176 I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands.
It does not matter that you have refused to help out before, or that you have been shy in coming forward in the past – now is the time – now is right!
God is not going to turn you away because you have not done something before, and He is not going to turn you away because of what you have done in your past.
Turn to Him, offer you help and wait for Him to call you forward and fulfil your role He has already designed for you!

Psalm 119:175 Let me live that I may praise you, and may your laws sustain me.
Do you like to help other people out? Are you normally one of the first to volunteer or one of the last?
There are so many ways in which we can volunteer to help others or just be there for others. So who do you offer your help to? Who do you go to to volunteer?
When you are feeling like it is time to step forward and help, just maybe God is calling you for that help...
Are you ready to step forward and say “here I am, use me” to God?

Psalm 119:171 May my lips overflow with praise, for you teach me your decrees.
Have you sat and watched a fountain as the water continues to pour out no matter what is happening around it (apart from when it freezes)
What would it be like to be able to praise God continuously just as a fountain continues to pour out its water?
There is nothing stopping you from praising God… I know many people live in oppressed societies where they cannot praise God openly, but inwardly people can continue to be a living spring of praise!
Make a difference to you day today – praise God continuously!

Psalm 119:170 May my supplication come before you; deliver me according to your promise.
Lift up your prayers and have faith God is listening; He has promised to hear our prayers and to answer them too…
If we want God to answer our prayers, then we do need to lift them up to Him in the first place – He knows our thoughts and knows what we need, but unless we are willing to acknowledge that need, are we asking anything of Him?
Do not be afraid to ask anything of God; the worst He can do is say no to you asking – but His promise is there to answer them one way or another.

Psalm 119:169 May my cry come before you, Lord; give me understanding according to your word.
Prayer is not something we just say and hope for the best – prayer is our personal communion with Christ.
If you just don’t know what to say or ask for in your prayers, then wait on the Holy Spirit to guide you and give you understanding of what you need to ask for.
We have many examples of how to pray in our bibles, but sometimes you mind just goes blank and you forget those examples – then is the time to call on the Spirit to guide you.

Romans 12:2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will.
You don’t have to do something just because everyone else is doing it… something I wish had been drummed into my head when I was at school!
If we follow everyone else, we are not listening to what God wants in our lives and not thinking about what is best in our lives – we are simply following another person and have no real control as to where we end up.
God made us as individuals who can make choices for ourselves – so that we do make choices for ourselves. Listen to the one who knows what is best for you and make the choice to obey Him!

Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God - this is your true and proper worship.
What do you do at or in your church congregation? What do you do in your local community?
God created us all very different so we could help support our local community/church/organisations/businesses; but to do so with a willing heart to give glory to our creator God.
Sometimes we just don’t want to get out of bed or cannot be bothered to go and do something; sometimes people depend on what we do and need our support.
Do something with God and for Him today!

Philippians 4:18 I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
Have you ever been weary about giving money in the offering tray/bag/collection? I have…
We need to look upon our offering not as money in the pocket of the church or priest or pastor, but as offerings which go toward God’s work and give glory to God.
Once I got my head round that, I was more than willing to give regularly to whichever church I was in – not as a bride to God, but as an offering which will enable someone else to spread the word of God to more people than I can!

Acts 10:4 Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. The angel answered, “Your prayers and gifts to the poor have come up as a memorial offering before God.”
Cornelius was a man who gave to those in need and prayed for those in need regularly; now was the time God was going to answer him in a special way.
How many times do you lift up your prayers and wonder whether God is listening – I know I have been guilty of that in the past, but I know now God is always listening!
God send an angel in a vision to Cornelius to reach out to the apostles; and at the same time God gave visions to Peter to reach out to the Gentiles/Romans.
Don’t doubt God’s abilities; prayer in faith.

Mark 12:1 Jesus then began to speak to them in parables: “A man planted a vineyard. He put a wall around it, dug a pit for the wine press and built a watchtower. Then he rented the vineyard to some farmers and moved to another place.
What would you do if you were leased a vineyard? Would you just take a holiday and enjoy the weather, or would you work hard to make the vineyard produce as much as possible?
Our bodies could be seen as being on loan from God – how are you treating your body, how are you looking after God’s body?
We do not have a long time here on earth in comparison to the age of the world and even less in comparison to the time we will spend in heaven – are you doing your best?

John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.
The Holy Trinity is something many of us struggle with because we try to understand it fully; what Christ offers us is simple words to understand things.
If Christ is the vine who is growing and spreading producing the best fruit, then God is the one behind the scenes keeping things going.
Without a carer we would falter and probably fade away, but with the best carer looking out for us, we can thrive and share the wonderful relationship we have with God, Christ and the Holy Spirit without fully understanding how it all works!

Matthew 20:1 For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire workers for his vineyard.
Heaven has open doors – open to anyone and everyone who is willing to accept Christ!
No matter how late you choose, or have chosen to follow Christ, you still get the same amazing gift of eternal life because God has offered it to us.
It is not based on how long we have been a Christian or how good you have been. This is a gift from God, through Christ and assisted by The Holy Spirit, for you!

Acts 12:13 Peter knocked at the outer entrance, and a servant named Rhoda came to answer the door.
After the Lord released Peter from the prison he wondered around a bit before realising he should be with the people who were praying for him.
But when he went to the house where they were praying, a servant girl came to the door to see who was knocking – being so surprised to see Peter, whom they were praying for, she ran inside without letting him in!
Sometimes in our lives we get too caught up in the things we are doing for God that we lose sight of the simple things we should also be doing for Him. Open the door and invite people in!

Daniel 5:11 There is a man in your kingdom who has the spirit of the holy gods in him. In the time of your father he was found to have insight and intelligence and wisdom like that of the gods. Your father, King Nebuchadnezzar, appointed him chief of the magicians, enchanters, astrologers and diviners.
I wonder what sort of introduction you would be given by the people you live close to…
We are called to be witnesses of God and of Jesus Christ. If we do not portray that to the people around us, then we are falling short of the mark.
Daniel had built up quite a name because he did not step away from God no matter what. He continued to be God’s light is a very corrupt society.

Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.
I love the way the apostle lifts up the Ephesians in prayer asking God may give them wisdom and revelation of the gospel message.
If you want to bless someone else, what better way that to have God open up their eyes and heart to the gospel so they too can share the wonderful news of Jesus Christ!
Jesus left us with the Holy Spirit for this exact reason – to open our eyes to the gospel and encourage us to uphold it giving all the glory and honor to God in heaven!

Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
The truth is more precious and more powerful than you can imagine. When people have doubts or come up against the unknown, having the truth in front of them will give them strength and encouragement.
God wants us to take the gospel with us and allow others to see just how wonderful the truth is.
Through us telling others about the truth, the Holy Spirit will be able to work much easier in their hearts knowing the seeds of truth have already been planted.

Romans 9:1 I speak the truth in Christ - I am not lying, my conscience confirms it through the Holy Spirit -
What do you say when you really want someone to believe what you are about to tell them is the truth? Do you swear on a parent’s life or other strange thing?
The apostle wanted the people to believe in the birth, death and resurrection of Christ and backed it up with a confirmation the Holy Spirit was guiding him.
He was not just saying what someone else wanted him to say; he believed what he was saying was the truth and his conscience knew it to be true.
