Ephesians 3:1 For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for the sake of you Gentiles

How do you see yourself? Do you think you are a free citizen or a prisoner in society, or somewhere in between?

I like the way Paul expresses himself as being a prisoner of Jesus for the sake of the gentiles – he was bound to serve the gentiles by Christ!

If we don’t see ourselves as being bound by Christ, are we fooling ourselves into believing we don’t need to do Christ’s bidding?

Mark 8:2 I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.

Can you imagine following someone around just to hear them talk about God – and to not bring food with you for the journey...

And if that lasted more than three days! Would you be thinking about going back home and getting some food?

God knew the people had been totally taken in by Jesus’ words, and knew they needed to be fed – He had compassion on them and wanted Jesus to feed them.

Jesus obeyed!

Hebrews 11:32 And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets

Sometimes we don’t have time to tell people of all the things we know about God and how much He means to us... so what do we do then?

Sometimes it is not our task to bring the knowledge and history of God but instead to show people just how much God means to us.

Showing people how much we love God often make more sense than us trying to tell others what we know of God!

Isaiah 50:10 Who among you fears the Lord and obeys the word of his servant? Let the one who walks in the dark, who has no light, trust in the name of the Lord and rely on their God.

Who is it you listen to? Do you listen to the words your church leader tells you or do you like to make your own mind up?

If we find it hard to trust in what other people say, then we must listen to and obey what God has to say.

God uses people to try and get through to us all the time, we should try to listen to them comparing what they say with what God has said...
