Matthew 2:11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

The shepherds may have been the first to come and see Jesus, but the Magi were the most esteemed who were called to see the Son of God.

These people had travelled far to find this new king, and cause quite a stir in doing so – because the king had heard of their exploits!

They gave some very special gifts to the new-born king because they knew He was going to be a very special king.

Our Saviour.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

Merry Christmas! Today we celebrate the most amazing Gift God gave to us, the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ!

No matter how much we think the world is going to pot... God continues to give us amazing and miraculous things to encourage and protect us.

Look up to God today and thank Him for what He has been able to do in your life and thank Him for the perfect gift He has given us!

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.

How often do you look out for the things God is doing in your life? Far too often we just accept what happens and think nothing of it – until something bad happens, then we blame everything and everyone!

God is continuing to work in our lives all the time and many times we overlook what He is doing because we want those things in our lives.

If we stopped to examine all God does in our lives, we would begin to see just how blessed we are!

John 10:5 But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognise a stranger’s voice.

Sometimes it is difficult to work out who is talking when you are in a crowd of people – something we don’t face too much of at the moment with social distancing.

But when you hear the voice of a loved one, you know who they are, and you may well be able to pick them out from a crowd just from their voice.

Jesus wants us to love Him like this and be able to pick out His voice no matter where we are and what we are facing.
