Luke 7:36 When one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him, he went to the Pharisee’s house and reclined at the table.

What would you do if a high priest invited you for a meal... from a religion which you did not believe or follow!

Jesus knew the Pharisee’s ways, but He still went to be with him – knowing He would get a chance to share the gospel as He knew it!

Sometimes we do have to mix with the wrong people to bring light into their lives – it does not mean we have to follow them or to believe them...

Use every moment God gives you to the fullest extent!

Luke 7:28 I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.’

For Jesus to lift up John into such a position shows how much He knew of the kingdom of God and those who are called to tell of it.

Jesus knew just how important the message was John was telling, but He also knew how John had left the worldly pleasures behind to focus on what is important.

Don’t get caught up in the world; rather get caught up in telling people about Jesus, about His good news!

Isaiah 6:8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’

Will you be ready when God calls you? Will you be ready to answer the call when God asks for a volunteer?

We don’t have to be the most outstanding citizen to be a minister – God calls us because of what we are, what we have been through and the insight it gives us for His work!

God is not going to force us into a position of ministry; He wants us to step forward with willing hearts and say, “yes Lord!”

Luke 1:24 After this his wife Elizabeth became pregnant and for five months remained in seclusion.

When Gabriel had visited Zechariah and Elizabeth and promised them a son, Elizabeth's reaction to getting pregnant at that age was to shut herself off from everyone.

When God answers your prayers – what do you do? I know from experience I tend to shut myself off from telling people... and I’m not sure why!

Maybe it is the realisation I had doubt and don’t want to admit it!

God wants us to share our answered prayers to allow others to have hope too!
