Psalm 85:8 I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants - but let them not turn to folly.

We can have great hope in what God has said because He continue to show us He upholds His promises every day.

He promised peace to His people, those who obeyed the commandments and did what He asked of them – this is our history.

But, it is also our history how mankind has turned to folly, to dumb and foundation-less ways just because we think it is OK.

God asks for faithfulness in return for His faithfulness. Its quite simple!

Psalm 85:3 You set aside all your wrath and turned from your fierce anger.

When Jesus came to earth, it was not as a ruler coming in to pacify the country. He came as a servant to serve and to be our one true sacrifice!

He had ever right to be angry with us. He had every right to destroy the earth. We are the ones who went back on our word and gave up on God just because we couldn’t wait…

Instead, He turned away from that anger and offered us open arms and loving forgiveness from the start.

He gave us a way to come back to Him without having to worry about what we have done in the past!

Psalm 85:2 You forgave the iniquity of your people and covered all their sins.

One of the biggest things we forget about is the very reason why Jesus came to live amongst us – so our sins could be forgiven once and for all!

God continues to forgive people every day with a forgiveness which is everlasting and total!

But how many times do we thank Him for forgiving us and putting all of our sins behind us – effectively separating us from that fateful debt!

Stop and thank God now...

Psalm 85:1 You, Lord, showed favour to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.

Sometimes we forget God is always watching over us and continues to look out for us.

Sometimes we are too caught up in the world to recognise all God is doing for us.

Sometimes we need to be reminded about all the things God has already done and continues to do.

Pick up the bible and have a read of all the things God has already done! You may well be surprised how much of it is relevant to you, personally!
