2 Corinthians 6:1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.

When people say they are going to be working for or with God, they should be doing exactly that!

But what happens to those who simply want to appease the people around them? They take in the words and ignore them because they are intent on doing their own things anyway.

They are the great pretenders of our time, being, as our bibles tell us, foolish! They are fools for rejecting the truth which is always given to them by God’s actual grace.

Luke 7:30 But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.

The Scribes and Pharisees had elevated themselves into such a position whereby they were rejecting God’s teachings in favour of their own!

“Shocking!” you may say, but how many of us do exactly that every day by saying what we say is right and not allowing God’s Word to show us the correct and righteous way!

They refused to be baptised because that would mean they would have to follow God’s ways. Our baptism should be the outward sign of the inner willingness to follow God!

Proverbs 1:25 since you disregard all my advice and do not accept my rebuke,

God calls us forward to be Christians, to be His flock, to be Children of God; we have the choice as to whether we listen to Him or we reject Him!

Far too often people simply ignore Christ and His teachings because it makes life a little simpler to handle. It is not the easy times in our lives which are going to shape us, but what we do in the tough times!

God will try and steer us in the right direction when we go off track. We probably will not like it because it means change in our lives; but He is trying to do a good thing!

Psalm 81:10 I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.

We do only have one God. He is loving but just, merciful are fair. He is always ready and always willing. But, He does ask some things of us…

We need to open our mouths wide in prayer, praise and being ready to receive what He gives us back. The more we commune with Him, the more we are able to receive from His constant supply.

Being willing to live out our lives with Christ means being able to fill our lives with Him as well.
