Amos 7:14 Amos answered Amaziah, “I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore-fig trees.

How many excuses have you made like “God won’t choose me because I have not been to college…”

God is not in the habit of choosing the most professional people He can find to do His bidding; God chooses the least to make the most of!

Amos was a shepherd boy and a gardener; there is no reference of Him going to any school to learn about God. God chose Him to make a difference – just like He can choose you!

John 7:15 The Jews there were amazed and asked, “How did this man get such learning without having been taught?”

Two things jump out at me, the fact Jesus did not go to bible collage or university to learn about the bible and, secondly, they knew it!

How did they know it? Was it that much of a closed community that every scholar knew the others? If that is so, this verse makes me extremely sad!

We must never exclude others just because they don’t come to our church or go to a specific school or college. Be open to everyone just a Christ was!

Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.

Do you know what it is like to have a young child tell you exactly how something works, or someone who you think knows nothing about a subject recite knowledge about that subject?

I am always amazed at the knowledge some people pick up about things which we do not associate them with; the Apostles picked up a lot of knowledge from Christ.

When we show we are willing to tell people all we know about Christ, they will most likely stop and listen – just because they hear something different.

2 Corinthians 3:12 Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.

What gives us the boldness to go forward and talk to someone about Christ or to share the gospel – it is certainly not in my normal nature to do anything like this!

But God gives us the wherewithal to step up and talk to people. Don’t trust on you own abilities or your own knowledge, otherwise you will fall over!

It is God’s light shining in us, showing us the hope, expanding our faith and giving us the courage to step forward and talk to others. Trust fully in God!
