Matthew 27:21 “Which of the two do you want me to release to you?” asked the governor. “Barabbas,” they answered.

When we face dangers in our lives, or when we face what seems like insurmountable odds, what are we going to do?

I’m sure we all like to think we can stand up and be counted amongst the righteous, but when we are actually faced by things we do tend to crumble and allow the world to take over once again!

If we give in to the world around us, we may well find ourselves agreeing with stuff we know is wrong or stuff we know we should not be doing.

Take a stand with Christ by your side!

Matthew 26:41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

There are always going to be temptations for us in life, but, with God by our side we should be able to avoid getting into those temptations.

God is not promising us a rosy life where we will see no temptations, but He is promising us the strength and support to not get involved with those temptations.

We have to realise we are inherently weak and we will give into temptations if we do not have the right support – Christ offers us that support, but we still need to take it!

Acts 22:21 “Then the Lord said to me, ‘Go; I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’ ”

What would you do if someone asked you to go to the people you did not like and give them stuff? How about going to your enemies and giving them aid?

God may well ask you to go and do stuff for people who make you uncomfortable – they may well be uncomfortable about you being there…

But the impact of us being there will count for more than someone local doing the same stuff.

God asks some difficult things of us, but He is going to support us all the way. Trust and Obey.

Matthew 15:26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”

Jesus was very good at stopping people in their tracks and forcing them to think about what they were actually doing in their lives.

Here He provokes the woman by talking about the people of Israel as children and the others as dogs.

Her response follows and she uses her masters words to bring out the point further.

We need to look at the realities in life and not just have kind words about things which challenge us.
