John 6:40 For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.

It is not God’s will to leave anyone behind or to lose anyone, it is His wish to have us all safe and with Him in heaven in the end; but He has left the choice to us.

We have to choose whether we are going to spend eternity lost and searching or found and safe with Him.

Sounds like a no-brainer like that, but every choice we make to follow the world instead of following Christ is taking us a step further away from that position.

Be safe – stay with Christ!

Matthew 12:50 For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.”

When Jesus earthly family came to try and find Him to speak to Him, He ignored them and continued teaching the people around Him.

When questioned about ignoring His family, the response was to remind us all that we are one Christian family and we need to act like it!

If we are willing to do come together and stick together as a family, others will see just how good it is to be in a loving family and will be encouraged to join in.

Don’t disregard your earthly family because they need to be encouraged into this Christian family if they are not already in!

James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

How well do you listen to God’s word? How well do you sit and listen in church when the preacher is talking? How much do you study your bible?

I guess the answer to all of these questions for all of us is “not enough!” but what happens afterward?

It is one thing to look, listen, study and meditate on God’s Word, but another thing to do what it says!

We are reminded here by James that God wants us to be doers or His Word – go out and do what it says!

1 Corinthians 3:18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise.

We like to think we can serve God through all the stuff we do and all the stuff we get others to do – but where is that coming from?

Is it coming from the need to fulfil certain tasks in order to gain a blessing from God, or is it coming straight from your heart because you love Christ?

It is a hard one to admit to doing wrong – but if you can get over your need to do things for God and start loving Him and following out of love, then your relationship with Him will grow deeper and stronger!
