Luke 12:20 But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?’

Let us never forget that we are fully and wholly accountable to our creator God! Whatever earthly things we manage to do here on earth are of no consequence in Heaven.

God alone knows our time of birth and death; He alone knows where we should be to give our best… so listen and obey!

There may be times when we do not understand why we are being asked to do something and times when we just don’t like what God is asking us to do – but those are the time when we need to listen closer!

James 2:5 Listen, my dear brothers and sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?

If you have not noticed the assortment of people in your local congregation, then I fear it is not a true representation of the church.

Christ chose people who were poor in earthly terms to make the biggest contributions to the church in spiritual terms – this was not by chance.

We set our minds on earthly goals and ways, forgetting that God crosses all boundaries and chooses people who are going to be faithful.

Give up chasing the world and follow God with a good conscience!

Deuteronomy 1:17 Do not show partiality in judging; hear both small and great alike. Do not be afraid of anyone, for judgment belongs to God. Bring me any case too hard for you, and I will hear it.

When we are looking to pick leaders or trying to be a leader ourselves, we need to have a look at how the Bible describes a few simple rules about leaders.

Final judgement is God’s and we should not forget that, but in order to help in earthly judgement, justice and fairness, we need to look at a bigger picture than just our friends.

We need to look at everyone involved and not to take sides based on our friends, circle of influence, upbringing or any other personal stuff.

Justice belongs to God and whatever we do is watched over by Him very carefully!

Exodus 23:2 Do not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you give testimony in a lawsuit, do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd,

When God got Moses to write down all of the laws (not the 10 Commandment which God wrote on tablets) He made sure they would be understood.

Yes, many of the laws seem hard to keep, but so many of them make sense when we read them now and we see how our modern societies are built on such laws.

You do not have to follow the crowd, you can stand up and say no – that is what God wanted right from the start!
