Psalm 16:5 O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.

When the tribes of Israel arrived in the promised land, the land was divided up according to tribes; but the Levites did not get a land allocation.

Instead they were given to serving God with the promise everything would in essence be taken care for them.

God continues to try and persuade us to trust in Him totally just as the Levites had to trust.

God has given us land, possessions, wealth and might according to His inner knowledge of us – trust Him in what He has done for you!

Psalm 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.

Does God get angry? Well, the bible says He does but it is my belief that God’s wrath or anger is not the same as ours.

When we get angry we tend to lose control of our emotions, actions and spirit. When God gets ‘angry’ it is because we have persistently done things wrong and He wants us to stop and change!

He does not lose control but does things to try and persuade us we are in the wrong; some of those things may seem harsh to us but they are what is required.

God is fully in control of His actions all the time – we lose sight of our direction!

John 16:20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.

God’s timing seemed strange and unknown at this time, just as it seems to many nowadays; but it was perfect in everything.

We may not be able to understand why things happen when they do and we may not be able to see any future in what happens, but Jesus’ promise still remains: “your sorrow will be turned into joy!”

When we look back and see why God allowed something or did something we can be sure it was for His glory in the end.

Believe in Him and trust in Him, always.

John 15:21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

Terrorists are not going to come after you just because they hate you personally; they will come after certain groups of people such as Westerners or Jews or Christians.

We will have to put up with some pretty horrible stuff just because we are calling ourselves Christians, just because we are identifying ourselves as being part of God’s family.

We need to stand firm in our beliefs and show other we are still willing to be called children of God, even when others put us down or persecute us.
