Psalm 41:1 Blessed is he who considers the poor; The Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

How would you class yourself? Do you think you always look out for other people? Do you think you mostly look out for others or do you just go about your own things?

Jesus came to this world, not to lift Himself up but to lift up the people who need it most!

We need to take a long look at the way Christ worked with the people He did and start applying that way of working into our lives.

Live like Jesus lived; for others!

John 6:70 Jesus answered them, “Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”

Throughout our bibles, and indeed throughout time we can see how the evil one has got in on everything he can in our lives.

Jesus was faced up directly by the evil one, but He also saw him at work when he picked the disciples.

We are warned about how adept the devil is at getting in on our lives, but I don’t think we always take it too seriously.

We should! Christ was crucified and died on the cross because of the seriousness of this evil being!

Job 1:6 Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.

The book of Job is thought to be the oldest of the scriptures found written down and this story should raise a few eyebrows.

Satan is here amongst the gathering of our Lord and various sons of God; he wanted to be there to cause trouble – just as he always does!

Satan was not there to try and see how good Job was but to try and destroy his faith in God.

The evil one will do anything he can to try and get you to doubt God or to blame Him for things; don’t go there…

1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

When the apostle says to be sober and vigilant, they cannot realistically be done without each other; trying to be vigilant if one is not sober in mind and spirit would be a lost cause.

We have a very real threat, the evil one, who is always out to try and trip us up at every opportunity; just to try and prevent us from being close to God!

When we hear a sound which frightens us, that feeling runs deep inside and not just on the exterior – the devil is out to frighten us as much as possible.

Trust in Christ and depend on Him as your protector at all times.
