1 Peter 1:13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Have you ever tried to wade through a deep puddle wrapped up in lots of clothes? It is very hard work when the clothes get wet. The best way is to lift the clothes away from the water to make it easier!

Here we are being told to do the same with our minds – not to allow our minds to be dragged down by the mire we are trying to wade through.

Allow Christ to guide you through this world by trusting in Him and listening to Him. Don’t be dragged down by the world around you.

Our bibles are here to light the way and make it easier – use them!

Romans 15:4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.

God did not have the bible written to try and trip us up. He did not have it written so He could show us up. He had this all transcribed so we could learn.

What we do not know, we can learn. Where we do not have hope, we can learn of hope. Where we grow weary, we can gain strength.

Don’t treat your bible like a rule book that has to be obeyed but rather as a source of all the things you need to know about God so you can be closer to Him.

Think of it in a positive light and not a negative light – that will change your life!

Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.

When Jesus was surrounded by the Sadducees and others trying to quiz Him on scriptural knowledge, Jesus’ reply was quite simple: “You don’t actually know enough!”

The more I read the bible the more I get to learn. The more I study it, the more I see there is to study and understand about God.

Don’t ever think you will get to the stage where you can tell God what He should have done – He is perfect, not you!

2 Timothy 3:13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

As we get closer to the end of times we are warned about how things will seem to get worse for us on earth; not just wars, earthquakes and the such, but people will grow more evil.

The more we see the people around us in various positions of power, the more we will see corruption and deceit as people strive to lift themselves up instead of God.

Pride and greed take over and evil walks straight in the door and takes a hold of that life!

Don’t be deceived by kind words if they are not backing up those words with kind deeds…
