Genesis 41:42 Then Pharaoh took his signet ring off his hand and put it on Joseph’s hand; and he clothed him in garments of fine linen and put a gold chain around his neck.

Taking a ring which is a symbol of your power and authority and giving it to another person is a very public show of your support for them.

We can trace this act throughout history signifying a passing on of authority, power or grace and favour.

If we are willing to forsake all in favour of God and His glory; we may well find we are set in good stead in this world as well.

Standing up for what is right and just goes a long way to encourage others to support you.

Luke 15:22 “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet

When the lost son returned home the father did not get any old garment out for him but the best robe and rings and sandals.

When Jesus forgives us it is not a half-hearted forgiveness but total forgiveness and the best there is too!

Christ has given us the best and we just have to come home to Him to receive the gift of Salvation that has already been prepared for us.

It may seem strange that Jesus is waiting for us with everything prepared; this is a demonstration of His love for us!

Isaiah 61:10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

The prophet’s words here are a foretelling of the salvation to come for the church. The words ‘spoken’ here being from the church and not from himself.

We do now rejoice we have a Saviour in Christ our Lord. We can be joyful for all He has done for us already.

Our Salvation is not by what we have done but because of what Christ has put on us through His mercy.

1 John 1:4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

This letter was written to share the truth of Jesus Christ being the Son of God and our eternal Saviour.

It may be an easy thing to hear the Gospel from a book or a letter, but taking in those words often needs a personal touch from the person telling the story.

When you want to tell someone about Christ it is better to be able to tell them from your heart what Christ means to you.

The joy Christ gives you runs so much deeper than watching a good movie or hearing a good story. Christ’s love is truly amazing!
