Proverbs 30:5 Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.

When someone says the Word of God is without error, how can we believe them knowing that the Bible was written by people?

The answer is that the words may well be penned by people but the inspiration came from God.

God is the one who will look after us, not God’s Word. You cannot expect God’s word to fill the place of God, but we can expect God to back up His word.

Through His power and grace we expect our faith to be rewarded and fulfilled.

Isaiah 29:13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch as these people draw near with their mouths And honour Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,

Honouring God means a whole lot more than just telling others you love God or just going to church faithfully or even giving all your money to the poor and needy.

Honouring God is all about being in a proper and meaningful relationship with God.

God wants us to be honest with ourselves and with Him. He knows our thoughts and our feelings so pretending with anything else is only fooling ourselves.

James 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
A tree is so much more than the show of branches, leaves and even flowers it displays above ground!

In order for that tree to survive it has to put down some pretty awesome roots to bring up the goodness and minerals required to survive and expand.

In order for us to show our compassion and kindness God would have us display, we have to send our roots deep down in the goodness, mercy and trust He lays down for us.

Our roots may be humble in comparison to what comes out the top, but those humble beginnings will allow great trees of faith to grow which will encourage others!

Psalm 32:9 Do not be like the horse or like the mule, Which have no understanding, Which must be harnessed with bit and bridle, Else they will not come near you.

Being stubborn and not accepting God’s ways just because the world says so is not wise. We do not have to be controlled by the world or by mankind, we are free to choose to follow Christ and His ways.

The world continue to try and dictate how we should live our lives and governments try to control people to make their jobs easier or more profitable; we do not have to follow those ways.

God instructs us to keep the law and follow His ways because He knows His ways are best for us all. We do have a choice.
