Psalm 57:1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, Until these calamities have passed by.

David would write on occasion of how God delivered him from danger and peril; each time is real and the danger was real too.

God is able to look out for us in ways we cannot imagine and ways in which we find out later may only be described as being supernatural.

God is able. God is willing. God is faithful.

Trusting Him should be a matter of course and not a matter of faith or hope for us. We are the ones who doubt and we are the ones who are weak; not God!

1 Samuel 24:4 Then the men of David said to him, “This is the day of which the Lord said to you, ‘Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it seems good to you.’” And David arose and secretly cut off a corner of Saul’s robe.

When Saul entered into the cave he thought it was safe to do so because of his army he had waiting outside. He chose to enter into the darkness of the cave.

David had been in the dark cave longer than Saul and was probably used to the diminished light, but without any light he would not have been able to cut off a bit of Saul’s garment.

We all need light in our lives and the amount of light we allow into our lives will dictate how easy it is for us to see the obstacles we will come up against.

Let God’s light shone brightly to allow you to see everything in your path!

Proverbs 4:19 The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble.

When people continue to want to walk in the dark they will not know what they are walking in or stumbling over when they fall.

But when we do have a little light in our lives we begin to see the world for what it is and we begin to see obstacles we can avoid. Avoiding them becomes common sense!

Not knowing that something is there will not make it disappear; we may not see it but it is still there and still a danger to us.

Don’t let the dark fool you into a false sense of security, rather switch on the light and see what is ahead.

John 12:35 Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

When is the best time to look for a lost item at night time; when the light is on or when the light is off?

It may seem a silly question to ask but we are living through this type of thing every day because Christ is trying to shine His light into our lives and we continue to switch it off!

Opening the door and letting the light in is the first step. Keeping that light in the room is the next logical step to take.

Using the light to do things is what makes the real difference in our lives!
