Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Have you ever thought why the bible uses ‘of good courage’ when talking about courage? From the beginning when the Children of Israel had to go it alone, God has been encouraging them.

He continues to encourage us in everything righteous. We continue to be encouraged by what others do and say as well.

But God gives the courage to stand up and do things. How can it be anything other than good courage when it is coming from God?

Be strong and stand up where God teaches you to stand up. Trust Him to give you the courage you need to do it right.

1 Corinthians 15:10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

I have found that where I used to boast about being able to do various things, I now tell others how God has made me able to do things.

Giving God the glory for the grace He has shown us and taught us is actually a very easy thing to do when you realise how much He has done for each of us.

God knew when to show us grace and mercy. He knew when to give us strength and courage. Each day we trust in Him we grow in Him.

The apostle learned to trust wholly in Jesus and so we should follow and trust as he did.

1 Corinthians 4:7 For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? Now if you did indeed receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

What is it that makes you different from other people and how did you become different?

We have choices we make in our lives and those choices tend to define our lives as we continue to grow and learn and experience.

But each one of us continues to be different from the others. We each have our strengths and weaknesses which makes us unique in some way.

If we all learned from the same source, why are we so different? Because that is what God did, made us unique.

1 Peter 4:10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

Hospitality goes further than just being there and supplying food and shelter for others. Jesus love is all encompassing meaning He loved people without limit and without prejudice.

We do tend to limit our love or define our love depending on the way others act or how they give back to us when we give to them. That is not Christ’s way. He gave without conditions.

Each of us has the ability to do various things, many times we can do things other people cannot do; these are just some of the gifts Christ has given us to use.

Sharing your abilities and time with others without prejudice and limiting conditions is what Jesus wants us to do.
