Psalm 8:2 Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
Do you think it takes the backing of a conglomerate to make something good?
All inventions have to start somewhere and it is not always in the biggest and brightest surroundings.
We need to take notice of every person who is willing to praise God, not just the priests and worship leaders, but everyone!

John 21:6 He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish.
How many times have you failed to do something and ended up thinking it was an impossible task to do?
How many times have you succeeded to do something because you got help at just the right time?
Are you willing to call out for help from God before you get to the point where things fail because you cannot do them?

Acts 4:13 When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realised that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.
What makes others have great success? Have you tried to learn from what others are doing right?
Peter and John did not go to college to learn how to be apostles – they simply went with Jesus and tried to follow His ways!
What greater encouragement do we need other than to see how people are able to do so much more by being with Jesus all the way!

Psalm 118:22 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;
Despite what religious leaders and people in charge teach, we need to teach the truth about Easter and about Jesus!
Despite politicians and world leaders turning their backs on Jesus, we need to turn toward Him.
Queen Elizabeth is a prime example of a world leader who continues to show people she believes and trusts in Jesus.
Be the example!

Proverbs 15:28 The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.
How do we know what we are doing is righteous? How do we know what we are doing is not evil?
The answer is we don’t know as humans, but we can know if we have faith with and trust in God.
If we are willing to allow Him to guide us in our lives, we will see a change in the things we do – we will be able to look back and see we moved toward being righteous!

Psalm 126:5 Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy.
Are you willing to get stuck in and put up with the hardships in order to gain at the end?
When the going gets tough, most of us will give up after a while because we can’t put up with those hardships.
To follow Christ’s example means being willing to put up with whatever the world throws at you in order to gain from Christ!

John 3:19 This is the verdict: light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.
When we were in boarding school we used to chat after lights out and even sneak about in the dark; sometimes a master or prefect would flick the lights on and some would get caught out!
Our lives are like this some of the time. We do things behind people’s back and without others knowing – and we know it is wrong!
God has the lights on all the time, even when we don’t realise it!
Acts like the lights are always on!

Psalm 34:19 The righteous person may have many troubles, but the Lord delivers him from them all;
Have you ever been mountain climbing or abseiling where you have to place your life in the hands of another person holding the rope?
God has a tight hold of that rope and we need to lean back and allow Him to take the weight, trusting in Him totally!
When we face hard times, God is there willing to help us every step of the way… we need to allow Him to help us!

John 6:5 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming towards him, he said to Philip, ‘Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?’
When Jesus was getting ready to feed the crowds, He already had a plan but wanted to disciples to think about what was happening!
Jesus asked the disciples a very earthly question because He could probably sense how they were reacting to the continued building of the crowd.
Jesus wants us to stop looking at the physical earthly ways of achieving stuff and focus on asking Him, the one behind all power, to help those in need around us.
God does not expect us to work miracles by ourselves!

Acts 9:4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’
Saul was doing what he thought was right – he was following the what the chief priests and others were saying – he was quite sure he was right in doing so!
God knew Saul’s heart and stepped in to stop him from blindly following the rules because God wanted him to listen.
Saul was too adamant in doing what he was doing to stop and listen for God; so God stepped in and made him stop!

John 14:5 Thomas said to him, ‘Lord, we don’t know where you are going, so how can we know the way?’
How much do you read your bible? How much do you understand from the bible? How often are you put off because you don’t understand?
The disciples could not understand many things in the beginning, but they stuck with Jesus and waited for Him to explain things!
When you don’t understand something, stop and ask for advice, God is good at explaining things when we ask!

John 6:34 “Sir,” they said, “always give us this bread.”
How much do you look to God for your daily guidance? How often do you read your bible? How often do you wait on God for a reply from your prayers?
Too often we get caught up in our daily lives and we forget to stop and wait on God – we want instance fixes because modern society is all about providing everything in an instant!
God wants you to stop and think… stop and listen… stop and wait...

Acts 8:4 Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.
What sort of a witness for God do you think you are?
You don’t have to go round wearing Christian T-shirts like I do. You don’t have to preach on the streets. You don’t have to ensure you never miss a church service…
What you need to do is to love the Lord your God with all you might and love your neighbours!
When you love others it shows and they want to know why – that is your witness!

Acts 8:34 The eunuch asked Philip, ‘Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?’
Sometimes when we read our bibles by ourselves, we find it hard to understand things…
I think the times I find it hardest is when I have other things on my mind and I get distracted by worldly thoughts!
God wants us to spend time alone with Him so He can explain things to us. Read and meditate. Pray and wait.

John 6:52 Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’
Can you imagine what was going through some people’s minds as they heard Jesus telling them they should eat the flesh of the Son of Man!
We can look back fondly on words like this and know Jesus was not being literal when He said this, but they did not have hindsight at that time!
We must accept that Jesus is giving us everything we need to live in Heaven with Him – we have to decide what we do with this truth!

John 6:66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
What did you do when following Christ got a bit uncomfortable?
Jesus did not promise us an easy-going life when we chose to follow Him; He warned us of the opposite!
When Jesus turn round and said many of His followers at the time were not real believers, many did turn away because Jesus was not encouraging them.
Just because life gets difficult, does not mean you should turn your back on it – the same goes for a life with God!

Genesis 8:6 After forty days Noah opened a window he had made in the ark
How many times do you try to do something before you give up because it keeps failing?
We all have our limits in our faith and we are all different. Noah was not in the mood to give up on everything despite having said goodbye to the world as he knew it!
God always keeps his promises and wants us to have faith enough to believe that and trust that – always!

John 10:4 When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice.
You get to know the voice of your parents and your friends and can often pick them out in a crowd just by their voices.
These are typically the voices of the people you can trust and you listen to them when they talk or tell you something.
We must get to be a good friend of Jesus so we can recognise His voice when He talks – not always easy of we don’t listen to Him enough!

Acts 11:20 Some of them, however, men from Cyprus and Cyrene, went to Antioch and began to speak to Greeks also, telling them the good news about the Lord Jesus.
After the killing of Stephen most disciples stayed amongst the Jews to tell them about Jesus, but a few went outward to Antioch and spoke to the Greeks.
Jesus does not call all of us to stay close to our homes and the people we know, He calls some of us to go out to people we would not normally think of when we think of Christians.
God wants His Word to go out to all the world, not just a “chosen race!”
