2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.

Because of what Christ has already done for us, the apostle charged Timothy with these instructions and we should take this instruction as personal as Timothy would have.

Jesus did not go lightly to the cross. It was with great pain and suffering but knowing that it was God’s will and what was required for us.

Take up the baton and follow in the footsteps of the apostles and Timothy. Tell others about Jesus but be ready for some people to reject you when you tell the truth!

Hebrews 9:26 He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.

The high priests had to offer themselves as well as their sacrifices often to appease God. The sacrifice was an offering for the sin and if that was not sufficient then their lives were on the line as they entered the Most Holy place.

Jesus Christ came and offered up a perfect sacrifice which was sufficient for all sin for all mankind.

That is how much God loves us and continues to love us; that single sacrifice was enough for all sin!

Titus 3:3 For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another.

When we talk about God loving us first we should always remember what we were like! We may not all have been as bad as some of the words that describe mankind, but we certainly were not angelic in our behaviour!

But even through that all, God chose to love us before we knew Him. He chose to love us in spite of all that we did wrong. He chose to love us knowing there was good inside of us.

Should we not have the same attitude toward others?

1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Real love is something that we all can experience in our lives if we are willing to go that extra step and take it on!

God’s love for us is unconditional, has no end, has no limit and is so full that we cannot fully understand it.

But when we are willing to accept it we can then grow in our love for Him as we see how much He cares for us.

Real love does not fear what may happen but embraces every step that does happen.
