Acts 2:13 Others mocking said, “They are full of new wine.”

One thing that I took a while to get used to was the fact that people look at Christians as being odd much of the time!

Why? Because we are different! Not in a bad way but in a good way. The problem is that the world does not see it that way.

What the world sees is a person who is different and not normal according to their own rules. So the world labels us in worldly ways…

We still use those labels as Christians too; what we should be doing is setting ourselves apart.

1 Samuel 1:13 Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard. Therefore Eli thought she was drunk.

How do you lift up your prayers to God? Do you stand on a rooftop and shout as loud as you can? Do you shut yourself in a quiet room and whisper? Do you stand in a room full of people and pray with them?

Prayer is a very personal thing because it is your own conversation with God; don’t expect everyone to understand how you pray because you are unique!

Hannah came to a place where she thought she would be able to be alone with God as she spoke to Him; it was only Eli who could not see that… God heard her clearly!

Psalm 5:1 Give ear to my words, O Lord, consider my meditation.

Just as we get to know Christ, He too gets to know us; not that He is lacking in knowledge but rather our relationship grows.

God is listening to all of our prayers, even those flippant ones which we throw up “just in case”.

But it is those that we meditate on that make all the difference.

Ask with courage. Ask with purpose. Ask from your heart. Ask knowing that God is listening.

Psalm 25:4 Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths.

Waiting on God can be difficult if you are a person who has always had their own way!

Being patient enough to wait for God to show you the right way instead of trying what you think is best can be difficult for an entrepreneur.

How do you know what is best if you are bogged down in the world?

Lift up your heart by getting back into reading a little more of God’s word each day.
