Psalm 42:2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?
How impatient are you with God? Do you try to make Him hurry up when you ask for something?
We are probably at our most dangerous when we want God the most because we look for shortcuts and ways we can hurry it up!
We need to stop and listen to God to allow Him to work according to His timing!

Psalm 25:7 Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord, are good.
How do you go about apologising to someone? Do you try to make the most elaborate story up, or tell the truth?
When we start to share the truth with people, they pick up on it and are more willing to live with it.

Psalm 147:17 He hurls down hail like pebbles. Who can withstand his icy blast?
How often have you been stopped from doing something because of the cold weather, frost, snow, ice or even heat and fire?
We are not in control of natural events; we can do our best to fight them and minimise the impact, but we are not in control.
God is the one who has control over all events and He alone can do all things...

Jeremiah 7:27 When you tell them all this, they will not listen to you; when you call to them, they will not answer.
When Jeremiah was sent out to remind people about God, he was warned that many would reject what he said.
God knows there are going to be people who reject Him and continue to reject Him, but not all.
We are to reach out to everyone and allow God to do the sorting!

Psalm 51:17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
Why do you do what you do in church?
As a disciple of Christ should we not be giving everything we can not for recognition or reward, but because we love Christ?

Luke 2:35 so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed. And a sword will pierce your own soul too.
Prophecies sometimes do not carry the news we want or expect.
Jesus’ mother was told of the marvellous things which would happen, but also warned of the terrible things she would face.
God will always tell you the truth – are you willing to listen?

Psalm 145:18 The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.
Jesus promoted a single truth and wanted all people to have access to that truth.
People promote their own ways and force their ways upon others.
Staying close to Christ does mean trusting His truth and His ways from your heart and not just saying it!

Psalm 34:15 The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry;
God does not go round looking for earthly success in His church – He is looking for people who want to join Him on a spiritual level.

Hebrews 10:4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
What do you do when you read something like this? Do you turn round and say the bible contradicts itself, or do you dig deeper?
God wants us to dig deeper whenever we hear something which seems to go against something we think we know…
It is true the blood of animals will not take away sin, but if God asked you to do that, would you?

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
Today is one of those days…
What are the shepherds rod and staff. Simply put, tools for controlling wayward sheep!
The shepherd will only use the rod and staff to protect the sheep!
For the best protection, the sheep have to listen and obey!

Numbers 21:8 The Lord said to Moses, ‘Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.’
I used to get confused with many of the Old Testament records of what happened – mostly because I did not have a good understanding of those stories.
As I grow in Christ ever day I gain a deeper understanding of Him and enjoy a deeper relationship with Him.
It is only to start believing; Christ will do the encouraging and strengthening all the way.

Genesis 17:9 Then God said to Abraham, ‘As for you, you must keep my covenant, you and your descendants after you for the generations to come.
We can learn a lot from the covenant God made with Abram, or Abraham as we know him…
God made this promise to Abraham. Abraham grew tired of waiting because he was limiting the response by worldly knowledge.
Give God the space to do what He does best – and obey Him!

John 11:54 Therefore Jesus no longer moved about publicly among the people of Judea. Instead he withdrew to a region near the wilderness, to a village called Ephraim, where he stayed with his disciples.
What did Jesus do when the world and people started to get too much?
He withdrew from the people focused on the world and went to be closer to God to share God with others.
Sometimes we need to refocus where we are to gain strength to carry on for Christ!
