Luke 8:39 “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.

What things have to happen to you before you will go out and tell everyone about it? If it were some nice surprise, you would probably go out and tell people straight away.

If it were out having dinner with someone special, you may tell others all about it…

So, knowing just how much God does for us, why do we not go out and tell others all about God and what he does for us?

We need to tell others the good news, the gospel, God’s fulfilment of His promises!

Luke 2:17 Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child.

The day after… What are you going to do now? Are you going to go back home and do nothing, or are you going to go back and make a difference?

So many times we build up to big events and then flop on the floor afterward having spent all of our energy on frivolous things.

God wants us to be more than that. God wants us to go out into the entire world and tell it of Him. We have just celebrated His birth; let us continue telling others just as the shepherds did.

Christmas Day, 2013

Luke 2:24 and to offer a sacrifice in keeping with what is said in the Law of the Lord: ‘a pair of doves or two young pigeons’.

If you are fortunate enough to have friends and family that give you gifts today, how are you going to thank them?

We all love to get back with family and friends over Christmas but when we are young much of that stems from the fact that gifts are going to be given – so we put up with things!

Jesus came as the perfect gift and anyone who has had a child can relate to how special a moment that is.

How are you going to say thank you to God for the plan that He came up with to save us from our sins?

Happy Christmas!

Luke 2:12 This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.

We can marvel all we like at the fact that this is Jesus Christ, our Messiah, Saviour, Lord, Son of God… but the shepherds were being told that they would find Him lying in a manger!

We may put some things in strange places but what would you have thought if someone came and told you that you would find the new king in a feeding trough?

Jesus did not need the pomp and ceremony of an earthly king. He does not need the world to treat Him like someone from the royal household.

All God wants is our love!
