Ephesians 5:9 (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth),

The one thing that we can be sure of is a change of attitude when we put our faith and trust in Christ alone.

When we continue to grasp at what the world can offer or continue to follow worldly ways then we will find that others will see the world through us and not see the fruits of the Spirit.

If we want the fruits of the Spirit to show then we have to make sure that God has room to work in our lives; that we are not pushing Him out and favouring the ways of the world!

John 7:37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.

The last day of the feast of tabernacles was regarded as a great day, not because of the amount of sacrifices offered because they would offer less on this day. This day was regarded as great because the offering made on this day would be for the people of Israel themselves.

And just as David had done many years previously, they would pour out a water sacrifice.

What Jesus was saying here was that the sacrifices would never be as worthy as people following Him with their hearts. Jesus made an end to the need for sacrifices by being the perfect sacrifice for us all.

2 Samuel 23:16 So the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and took it and brought it to David. Nevertheless he would not drink it, but poured it out to the Lord.

When the three mighty men teamed up they were able to get into the Philistine stronghold and draw fresh water from the well to bring back to their king.

They did this out of love and loyalty, being willing to sacrifice themselves for their king. But what David did must have made them wonder why they had risked everything!

David was after spiritual filling rather than fresh water. The price paid for fetching that water made it a suitable sacrifice to God, one that David did not take lightly!

Ecclesiastes 4:12 Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

When we intertwine multiple cords together we get a rope that is much stronger than the sum of the cords put together; this happens because of the friction between the cords as well as a few other factors.

When we are placed together with other Christians we make a stronger force than just the individual parts joined together because of our differences and our similarities.

God wants diverse people to come together to make a stronger and more able church that can do more to glorify Him than individuals working for themselves.
