Matthew 2:16 When Herod realised that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.

People often think about the wise men coming to the stable… in reality they missed that event and ended up visiting Jesus as a young child instead of a baby.

The Magi did what was right and hid the truth of Joseph, Mary and Jesus sneaking out of town before Herod realised what was going on.

Sometimes when we do something good, others will twist it and turn it into something horrible… Stick with the truth and righteous things; it is what God wants!

1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life.

What do you do with the Word of God? What do you do with the words you hear in church? What do you do with your bible?

God has given us His Word that we may take it, keep it deep in our hearts, allow it to encourage and guide us… and to share it with others!

It’s that last step, the sharing, we often forget and leave out...

Psalm 119:165 Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

When we accept Jesus into our lives with open hearts, we get a whole lot more than just a little peace and joy!

Following Christ and submitting to His ways leads us down paths which He has already set in front of us and the best ways forward in our lives.

Accept God’s guidance and live the life He wants for you. Give up on your stubborn ways and live fully in Christ’s arms.

Luke 2:19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.

How caught up in the Christmas rush have you been over the last few days?

Will you take some time out today to spend it with Christ, your Lord and Saviour; thanking Him for coming to be born with us and live with us.

Take the Joy He brings and keep it in your heart, working the good works He asks so others can see a new Hope in Christ.
