1 Thessalonians 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
Jesus also told the disciples how we would go to join Him in Heaven; He was taken up in a cloud with much joy from Heaven.
We will be taken up without warning, signifying we do not have foreknowledge of the time. We will be taken up together as one church body.
Christ wants us to be together – but it will only be those who do believe and trust in Christ because this is His personal gift to us!

John 17:24 Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
When Jesus was praying to His Father, these are the words He used to show how much He wants us to join Him in Heaven.
He shows us here He was thinking of us from the very beginning, The Holy Trinity showing us their Love toward us and a way we can be with Them in Heaven.
God had a plan and He carried it out to make sure we have a choice and that we have a reward for choosing life with Him.
Be happy and enjoy what God has given you!

Psalm 41:12 As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, And set me before Your face forever.
God upheld Jesus because of many things; what set Him apart from other humans was the fact He was without sin.
His ‘reward’ for being perfect is to have a seat with God in Heaven, to be able to see Him face to face and enjoy eternity in Heaven.
Jesus wants us to be able to join Him in Heaven but our sin is holding us back; admitting our sin to Him and asking for forgiveness will allow us to join Him for eternity!

Psalm 41:11 By this I know that You are well pleased with me, Because my enemy does not triumph over me.
Jesus knew the Father’s love for Him and He tried to talk about it in a way people would see how real it is. When He was baptised God spoke out loud.
If this is how God treated His Son even though He was blamed for so much by the people, then how much will Christ speak out for you even though the people say things about you?
Jesus gave His life because He knows us and because He forgives us; allow Him to speak on your behalf – follow Him!

Psalm 41:10 But You, O Lord, be merciful to me, and raise me up, That I may repay them.
Jesus had the foreknowledge of who was going to come up against Him as a man. He knew who was going to be there to reject Him as Messiah. He knew who was going to work against Him and have Him flogged.
But because of His amazing love toward us all, He stepped forward into their teeth, into their den, just so He could make our way safe.
But for those who have rejected Him, despised Him, wounded Him and turned away from Him – the punishment awaits; not because Christ is angry but because He is just.

Psalm 41:6 And if he comes to see me, he speaks lies; His heart gathers iniquity to itself; When he goes out, he tells it.
We can see who our enemies are by the way the act towards others and not just ourselves. We can see who the enemies of Christ are in a similar way.
If we can see them so easily then God has no problem spotting them a mile off.
We may have to wait for people to say something out of sorts or to do something wrong before we spot they are not good. Christ has the foreknowledge to see who is willing to ask for His forgiveness.
You don’t have to wait until God tells you off – ask for forgiveness now.

John 13:19 Now I tell you before it comes, that when it does come to pass, you may believe that I am He.
Jesus knew one of the disciples was going to reject Him. We can all speculate about why – but whatever the reason, Judas was going to betray Christ and both of them saw it coming.
Up until this moment Jesus had not treated any of the disciples differently – indeed Jesus had just washed all of their feet to signify them being cleaned.
We make our choices and Christ is willing to wait right up until the last moment; but we don’t know when that time is coming.
Be ready and love Jesus right now!

John 13:18 I do not speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with Me has lifted up his heel against Me.’
God knows all those who will come to Him and knows all those who will refuse to come to Him; yet we are all given an equal chance in the beginning.
Just as all twelve disciples were sitting with Jesus, hearing the same message and enjoying the same teaching, we too are all enjoying the grace Christ is showing.
But when the time comes for each of us to show our true colours, we will make our choice to either follow Christ or reject Him – it is our choice!

1 Peter 1:20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you
One of the most comforting and yet scary things I think of is how the words of the Old Testament were written so many years ago and foretold of all the things which would have to come – the horrible parts such as sacrifices for us!
Then in our New Testaments we find out how they all have already happened!
And now we wait for the things which are written about our futures where Christ is going to come back for us. Awesome, yet still scary!

Isaiah 52:3 For thus says the Lord: “You have sold yourselves for nothing, And you shall be redeemed without money.”
We are said to sell ourselves for nothing because we continue to give in to sin all the time; knowing we do wrong but giving in to it just the same.
We may gain in some earthly ways from our sins, but we do not truly gain because of the price we end up paying for what we have done!
God, Christ is not paying money for our souls. He has laid down His life for our spiritual wellbeing and our eternal life. He has paid for this with the blood of the Lamb.

Isaiah 55:1 “Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price.
These are the word of The Lord given to Isaiah to tell the people; it is God who is telling people to come and eat and drink without worrying if it will cost too much.
God wants us all to have access to His Word and to His love without worrying if we have to pay any price for it.
Jesus Christ has paid the price so we may have full and free access to His eternal gift to us all. Nobody is excluded from being given the gift; but we do have to accept it…

Matthew 26:27 Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
It is interesting to see how different people have translated these words differently; so whether we read we have to drink all of it or all have to drink it, it all must be consumed!
God does not want us to take a bit of the bible and see if it fits in our lives, a bit of the Gospel and see if we agree, a few of the rules as long as they don’t stop us from enjoying life…
God wants us to follow His way of life, His way of living and His rules.
God wants us to make a decision to follow Him and to stick with that decision all the way until we are with Him in Heaven; forever and for always!

Psalm 116:13 I will take up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the Lord.
What has God given us? He has given us Salvation. It is a free gift waiting for us to accept and take in; all we need do is to call on His name as our Saviour!
What is Salvation? It is being saved. Saved from what? God laid down the law in the beginning and we broke it – the penalty for us breaking the law was death.
But Christ paid for that debt we owe by giving His own life in our stead! Thank Him. Ask Him for forgiveness. Accept the most awesome gift of all time right now!

Psalm 16:5 O Lord, You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
When the tribes of Israel arrived in the promised land, the land was divided up according to tribes; but the Levites did not get a land allocation.
Instead they were given to serving God with the promise everything would in essence be taken care for them.
God continues to try and persuade us to trust in Him totally just as the Levites had to trust.
God has given us land, possessions, wealth and might according to His inner knowledge of us – trust Him in what He has done for you!

Psalm 30:5 For His anger is but for a moment, His favour is for life; Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
Does God get angry? Well, the bible says He does but it is my belief that God’s wrath or anger is not the same as ours.
When we get angry we tend to lose control of our emotions, actions and spirit. When God gets ‘angry’ it is because we have persistently done things wrong and He wants us to stop and change!
He does not lose control but does things to try and persuade us we are in the wrong; some of those things may seem harsh to us but they are what is required.
God is fully in control of His actions all the time – we lose sight of our direction!

John 16:20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy.
God’s timing seemed strange and unknown at this time, just as it seems to many nowadays; but it was perfect in everything.
We may not be able to understand why things happen when they do and we may not be able to see any future in what happens, but Jesus’ promise still remains: “your sorrow will be turned into joy!”
When we look back and see why God allowed something or did something we can be sure it was for His glory in the end.
Believe in Him and trust in Him, always.

John 15:21 But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.
Terrorists are not going to come after you just because they hate you personally; they will come after certain groups of people such as Westerners or Jews or Christians.
We will have to put up with some pretty horrible stuff just because we are calling ourselves Christians, just because we are identifying ourselves as being part of God’s family.
We need to stand firm in our beliefs and show other we are still willing to be called children of God, even when others put us down or persecute us.

2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
What sort of things are you willing to face for your best friend? Are you willing to go through hardships just so their life can be better?
Christ calls each of us to live up to the command to love one another, not just as another Christian, but as someone you care about.
Yes, that is hard, but the rewards are many and as we do this, Christ strengthens us from the inside and keeps us going to spread His gospel and His love.

Romans 15:1 We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
The more we read our bibles, study God’s Word, prayer together, worship together and stay together, the stronger we will be to help others.
In order to be the most effective Christians we can, we ought to know more about being a good Christian. Knowing about temptations can help us if we are strong, but may make us weak if we are not ready.
Continue on the path Christ has set before you, listening, learning, wanting more, worshipping and praying; that way we can be there for others when they need it most.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
When you see someone fall over, do you just stand there and watch or do you offer a hand? What happens when they fall into a dangerous spot?
Our bibles warn us against trying to be the super hero to those who give in to temptations; yes we want to help, but if we end up giving in to that temptation too then we have failed!
Be strong and courageous, but be sensitive and sensible about it too!
