Matthew 18:1 At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”
We are always on the lookout for differences between us and others. We always want to compare ourselves to others. This is what we get to learn as human nature!
But when we get to Heaven, God is not going to compare us based on our appearances, or our wealth or health or any other feature.
God is not going to compare us. He is going to judge us by what we were given and what we accomplished – just like the servants who each were given various amounts of money to store.
Trust God and His judgement, not any human facts and figures!

Psalm 69:5 O God, You know my foolishness; And my sins are not hidden from You.
Nothing we can do or will get up to will ever be able to be hidden from God; and yet He is willing to forgive every one of those moments!
He is willing to put every sin behind us so we can move forward with absolute confidence in Him.
There is nothing too great for our God to forgive because He allowed His Son to pay for our sin debt instead.
God’s love knows no bounds!

Psalm 69:4 Those who hate me without a cause Are more than the hairs of my head; They are mighty who would destroy me, Being my enemies wrongfully; Though I have stolen nothing, I still must restore it.
Even though the prophets foretold of the hatred the people would have for Christ, the truth still continued to follow those same prophetic words.
Christ did not come to steal things from this world but to rather give back what was missing.
So who stole it and what did they steal?
Think about what the evil one has removed from this world and think about what Christ has achieved to restore what was taken…

John 15:25 But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’
No matter how we look at it, the prophets wrote about the hatred of Christ many years before He came.
Just because people think they can change does not make it possible without God.
God continues to uphold His word and continues to ensure the scriptures remain the truth, giving us hope and faith in what was written for our benefit.
Was there any real reason for people hating Christ? Well, not apart from Satan and what he is trying to do. Live for Christ instead!

John 12:34 The people answered Him, “We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever; and how can You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
It is right to question things! This does not mean we should argue about anything and everything; we have teachers whom we should believe.
God wants us to be able to understand enough about Him so we can get to know Him and trust in Him as much as any people throughout history.
But just because someone says something does not mean you should just accept things. We need to compare what we are told with the scriptures to make sure we are being told God’s truth and not man’s own story.

John 12:27 Now My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this purpose I came to this hour.
What do you think about on your birthday? Do you think about the horror of being another year older? Do you try and figure out what you have achieved so far?
Don’t let it get you down but rather realise it is God who has brought you this far and He is the one who has given you the opportunity you have today!
It may look scary or even grim, but unless you continue to walk with God and trust Him totally, you may not get to see just how marvellous the outcome can actually be!

Hebrews 5:7 who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear
How hard do you pray? Are you serious about your prayers? Do you realise just who you are praying to?
Questions like these should be asked by us as we start our walk with God and the answers should stick with us throughout our life with Him.
God is awesome. God is amazing. God is listening. Don’t ever forget who we speak to in prayer. Don’t ever forget He has called us to be His children and as such we should cry out to Him just as we do to our parents!

Psalm 55:17 Evening and morning and at noon I will pray, and cry aloud, And He shall hear my voice.
Right from the earliest times people have realised how important prayers are and how important it is to pray regularly.
This does not mean we need to set our clocks by our prayers times or to pray just because we need to.
God wants to have a personal relationship with us, which means being consistent and willing to talk to Him.
Pray from your heart and let God know your heart!

Daniel 6:10 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
What sort of example do you think you are setting with your prayer life? Do people know you pray? Do you offer prayer for others? Do you pray for other people?
God does not wish us to be selfish in our prayers but to pray for others always. Giving thanks to God for the prayers He has heard and answered is of paramount importance as well.
Just as we should thank people for what they do for us, we must always thank God for everything He is doing for us in our lives.

Acts 3:1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.
Do you regularly set aside time for prayer? How many times a day? How many times a week? Or is it monthly!
Many of us fall far short of the example the disciples set with their prayers and their lives with Christ; but this does not mean we should give up. Far from it!
God wants to hear our prayers every day and constantly. Make a change in your life today and set time for prayer as being one of those important things to accomplish every day!

Isaiah 35:6 Then the lame shall leap like a deer, And the tongue of the dumb sing. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness, And streams in the desert.
When Jesus gave the disciples the command to go out into all the world it was not just to speak to people but to go out and do miracles just as He had taught them.
Look up what happened to the lame man who Peter told to get up and walk; he leapt up and danced around with Joy.
Just as the prophets said the Messiah would do wonders, Jesus gave us the power to go out and do wonders as well.
Believe in what Jesus has given you and not just in what you think you should do!

Luke 7:22 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them.
Did Jesus turn round to the disciples and tell them these things to boast about them? No!
What He was doing was telling them of the events which the prophets had said would happen when the Messiah came.
Jesus was trying to build up the case for them to fully accept Him as being the Messiah, giving them more proof so they could tell others of these same truths.
Jesus came to save the world and not to blame the world!

John 14:11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
When Jesus was trying to get the disciples and people around Him to believe His Words He was obviously having a hard time.
Jesus tries hard to get us to believe the simple words, but then sometimes words just don’t seem to be enough for us to follow Him.
He came and did many miracles, He continues to do miracles; if you don’t want to believe the words, then believe the miracles!
Trust God.

John 11:15 And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, that you may believe. Nevertheless let us go to him.”
I cannot pretend to figure out what was going through Christ’s mind at the time of this story, but we get some straight talking here.
Jesus was actually glad Lazarus had died, not because it meant Lazarus had gone through death but because it gave Him the ultimate opportunity to show them life!
Jesus does not want us to suffer, but sometimes we force His hand and this is the only option left to Him.
Give Jesus more opportunities to do remarkable things in your life rather than horrible things!

John 12:30 Jesus answered and said, “This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sake.
Have you ever taken notice of what Jesus says here? Thinking back to yesterday’s verse when God declared He was pleased with Jesus; why did people hear the voice?
Jesus knows God the Father and He knows what to expect, but the people around Jesus did not know.
God has not chosen to speak out loud too many times and each time has been so we can hear what He has to say.
We are the ones who need the encouragement and the faith; God gives us the means to reach that!

Matthew 3:17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
For you to stand up in front of a crowd and shout out about how pleased and happy you are about and for someone else may well take an extraordinary event.
God had no problem with shouting out about Jesus because this is His Son and He has lived a pretty extraordinary life so far.
Don’t forget Jesus came to John and asked that John baptize Him in the river. So this is God being very pleased because Jesus is setting a great example for everyone.

Matthew 12:18 “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles.
These are the prophetic words from Isaiah which were to be spoken by God the Father about Christ Jesus; words to be directed to the church.
These words would be spoken by God because Go has already promised these words through His prophet.
God is Just and continues to uphold each and every promise He has made through the people chosen by Him at the time.
Jesus Christ, the chosen and beloved Son of God, our King, our Saviour and mediator.

Isaiah 42:1 “Behold! My Servant whom I uphold, My Elect One in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
These word are description about Jesus Christ, Messiah and King! The one and only chosen directly by God.
Our Lord would have the Holy Spirit, given visibly when Christ was baptised by John.
God’s task for Christ was to bring justice to all the people in the land who were willing and able to accept His Words.
This alone gave Him to qualifications as teacher and King.

Philippians 2:7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
Christ emptied Himself of any righteousness by taking on our sins knowing the only way to pay for them was with His own life!
Christ also came as a servant even though He is our King of Kings!
He gave up every right He had just because He loves us so much.
This was not a task He took on because He was told what to do; He took this on because He knew it was the only way!
