Matthew 26:28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Not only was Christ reminding the disciples of the blood which was shed for the forgiveness of sins, but He was talking of the blood which was still to be shed – His blood.

Christ was laying down a new promise which he was going to keep – His blood was going to be shed once and for all for all sin and not just for the sin of the people around the table!

Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice who had known no sin and willingly gave Himself to cover all of our sins.

1 Corinthians 10:16 Is not the cup of thanksgiving for which we give thanks a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread that we break a participation in the body of Christ?

It does not really matter how many times a month or year you take communion or participate in mass… what matters is what the act of communion means to you.

If you just go along because it is something you were told to do once a week or once a month, then why are you doing it?

If you go along to make someone else happy, then why are you doing it?

If you set aside the time to bring to memory all Christ has done for you and has promised, then maybe you are on the right track.

John 15:5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

When we can put aside the hatred of others or the promotion of self and begin to live our lives with Christ, then we can start to focus on what is important in our lives.

Without Christ in our lives, we fall very short of the mark, but with Him, we have the Holy Spirit residing within us who is willing and able to help us deliver on Christ’s promises.

Live with Christ, depend on Him and trust in Him for everything.

Colossians 3:11 Here there is no Gentile or Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all, and is in all.

One thing many of us get caught up in during our early lives is racism or sexism in some way.

Jesus came to be with the Jews because they were God’s chosen people; but the message He gave to everyone was not just aimed at the Jews but all people!

Jesus wants us to be the same to all people, no matter what standing in life, what sex, what race, what age, whatever!

Be more like Jesus and share the gospel with all people!
