Psalm 31:23 Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person.

We are taught to love the Lord because of what He does for us, because He keeps us and He rewards us. Is that right?

Why should God reward us, keep us, make us happy, do all these things for us all the time? Simply because He loves us!

So our love for God should be based on His love for us, not from the rewards. Our love should echo His love.

God’s love for us goes far beyond our own imaginations so let us stretch our love and embrace Him fully today instead of half way there!

Psalm 31:9 Have mercy on me, O Lord, for I am in trouble; My eye wastes away with grief, Yes, my soul and my body!

What sort of state is your relationship with Christ in? Are you getting up in the morning and telling God how you will trust Him?

Do you get to lunch time and call out for mercy as your day gets worse?

Do you reaffirm your trust in Him later in the day as you realise He is actually still there and still cares for you?

Will you put all of your trust into His arms and continue to trust Him like you did when you woke up this morning?

Psalm 28:3 Do not take me away with the wicked And with the workers of iniquity, Who speak peace to their neighbours, But evil is in their hearts.

It is very easy to be pulled in by a person who can “talk the talk” or who is very persuasive; and it is hard to walk away from them because of their persistence…

It is always easier if we have someone who is willing to walk by our sides or even carry us through the difficult stages…

God wants to be that person walking by your side, carrying you when you fall, comforting you when you need it and pointing you back in the right direction when you go astray.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

When Jesus said He was giving us peace to live within it was not a nice cosy cottage in the middle of nowhere but a spiritual state we would be in whilst the Holy Spirit came to live with us.

Jesus wants us to be cared for from the inside and not just physically and emotionally. God wants us to be able to experience the peace only he can give and to live with it while we live in our troubled lives.

We may still face hardships we struggle with, but we can always know God is with us and caring for us from the inside!
